What the Fiat!

The only sensible upgrade I can think of is Alfa Romeo hatchback, not the Fiat, especially if it's the Punto....

It would either be that I found out the Aveo has some serious setbacks or I am plain crazy (or just won loads of cash!) should I opt for other cars of the same class or lower (Punto is 1.3L right?).

Aveo_powered just prompted me this idea to throw all a very 'unethical' question:

If $$$XYZ is not an issue, what's the car you would buy now?

To use the word 'seduced by' then definitely the 4-letter car manufacturer cannot be Fiat. Sorry if there's any Fiat enthusiasts or owners here ok?

The only make has to be....da ta ta [drumroll]

ALFA (ROMEO) [thumbsup][inlove]

its an italian seduction, which the focus isnt. anyway, Fiat is by no means a plain car. it does have its appeal but its function is mainstream. still, i think it is an interesting car choice compared to choosing another jap or korean model. at least u noe this is one car which has Ferrari, alfa, maserati DNA. the owner of Fiat owns Ferrari and the most other italian marques except Lambo. and Fiat has a limited edition car named after Schumacher.

i used to think lowly of Fiats until i started getting interested in Alfa, began to read alota Italian car mags and heard alota superb things abt it. each model has its own kinda function and the punto and panda are mainly city cars. & having test driven both, to me it drives better than other budget super minis with that sweet racy italian engine note.

other links wud be the panda uses the dualogic gearbox, aka selespeed. & the punto HGT uses alfa 156 1.8 engine. True, it may not look as seductive as alfa for e.g. but it's not supposed to be an alfa. its supposed to give mainstream buyers a nice, practical fun choice without blowing yr wallet. do give it a try, u will find the italian character built into it.

A business associate of mine in the motoring industry said this, "once you have been seduced by the 'red side', there is no turning back". And I think there is some truth in this statement.

Nearly everyone is an Alfisti if they can fork out the money. laugh.gif

we all can fork out the money provided we save for it. i gave up driving for one year just to get an alfa. and looking back, i can absolutely say its worth it!
