Yoyo Pipiballs, I'm going to fix mine this Sat. It'll be another full day as they need to custom fit the shelf into the back of my Teg. Minimal space used, and to preserve the full folding seats usage. Quite a challenge!

Haiz... I can't make it so Saturday cos there'll be a mobilisation in the afternoon as part of ICT. Haiz... Do me a favour, help me also check the status of my side plastic covers for the tweeters ok? I was thinking of finishing mine this coming Sunday or Monday. Hopefully, there will be available slots.

I finished up mine yesterday. Now seriously considering should i change a Head Unit. But then again, it will ruin the looks of my M3 dash board panel...

Don't change your HU. It'll spoil the look of your Mazda3. Besides, I really don't think HU will make that much a difference to sound quality. There'll be some minor difference, but I believe the biggest improvements come from the speakers, amp and the way the entire setup is tuned.

You're still thinking the sound quality is "still not quite there" yet?.... [sweatdrop]

Sample of Foon's excellent custom carpentry at Audioedge. The shelf is attached to the back of the Teg's folding rear seats, so I can still drop the seats for storage space!

Some how or rather, I think that my set up wasn't tuned right. If I play bombastic pop like Michael Jackson, the set up sounds super solid! But when i play classical, its horrible! The high pitch coming from the tweeters i believe is too sharp. Very uncomfortable when I turn on the sound too loud. I also feel that I base is not coming from the front. Seating at the driver seat, i feel that there is a mis-alignment from where the sound is coming from. I feel that the sound should encompass me all round. I should feel like I'm in the 'center' of everything when i close my eyes and listen to the music. But I don't feel anything like this at all....

Somehow or rather, i feel that it's not right.

Let the speakers wear in after a few weeks, then return for a finer tuning. That's what I intend to do also. It's basically playing with the focus and timing delays to get everything right. Some tweaks to the amp and also the EQ too.

As Vlaster said, it's vert true, let the speakers run in for some time(48hrs) frist to get rid of the harsh note.

But ur alighment issue should not be happening, you should be able to feel ur mid bass merging with ur woofer. And ur soundstage should be at least in front of u, min on the dash borad. Maybe u can go back to them for some tunning again.

Yea... That's wat I intend to do. Later going to shop for some CDs to help my speakers run in. Never had a Michael Jackson CD. I think it will be a good choice to 'warm up' my speakers and tweeters.

Yea.... Hee hee... Maybe can invite all people we met that day to drop by together! Its alot easier to seek out the areas for tuning when there are more pairs of ears! [sly]
