Hello All,

I'm driving a Hyundai Matrix for about 2 1/2 years and for 2nd time, i'm facing this orange color check engine light appears.

When this check engine light appears, the auto-transmission gear is not engangeable. Not even going up slope.

I like to know does anyone encounter such event with Matrix?

So far, i've not send in to Komoko for check.

I'm also doing enginer oil change services on every 5K.

Your comments is highly appreciated.

Thanks to all...

Hi,

you mentioned that your auto-trans is not engagedable, do you mean that when you place in "D", it doesn't move or it moves but very slow?

I think you got a fault with your Auto-Trans. Usually, if the ECU detects a fault in the auto-transmission, it will program the gearbox into "limp" mode, which means you will only have 3rd gear and reverse gear. I supposed your reverse gear is still functioning?

Don't delay too long, get it towed to Komoco soon.

Hi GSR,

Thanks...

Yes, you are absoultely correct. Reverse gear is still functionally.

If its gear fault, does Komoco charge to owner?

Hi GSR,

Pardon me for the late late respond... [:p]

I manage to seek your opinion and brought the car down to Komoco yesterday morning for their rectification.

Wow, it took me 3/4 day to just change the auto-gear sensor. [sweatdrop]

I ask what did they change and y happen, the tech.advisor said they change the sensor.

Take it as is it as can't see if they really change.

However, at least i'm less stree now after they rectified the problems....

Thanks for your great advise.... [thumbsup]

Hi Familymanz,

I did not actually did anything since the 1st time it happen.

When i drove to my mechanic's place, i stop the car, turn off the engine to cool it down, switch it on and afterthat, the light did not appear again.

But you can feel that its under power.

For 2nd time, when it appears, i changes the Auto-Transmission gear oil. To my surprise, the oil was DARK CHOCOLATE. My mechanic was surprise to see that too as he mentioned that the oil should not be that dark as i've only travel 33K for 2 years car...

So, after changing, no problems happen again....

Now for the 3rd time,,, i bring to Komoco lor.... [thumbsup]
