Here's my contribution to VOGS regarding FC.

Fuel Consumption

By DarkLord

VOGS 8th MM

1. What is fuel consumption or FC?

Amount of fuel consumed vs mileage of car travelled. Unit of measurement - Km/L.

2. How to calculate FC?

Distance travelled divided by amount of fuel used. So in order to have a more accurate calculation, top up to full tank and run the car till the next top up. Divide the mileage traveled by the amount you just pumped. Repeat this for a few tanks till you have an average FC figure.

3. The average FC of Vios?

Bro, it could a simple case of travel pattern, my usual FC is about 10km/l for 60% HW 40% City (Jam most of the time, more like 80% city driving)

Whole of last week, I travelled to a different location for work. 80% HW 20% City (smooth traffic).

FC was 14.1km/L for my Auto Sunny!! Unbelieveable!! dizzy.gif

A 41% improvement for FC. No new parts added, same right foot (rpm <3k).

Oops, wrong explanation. running in have some weird fluctuation if everything else is ok.

once I hit 8km/l nothing change. check everything, nothing wrong, next pump back to normal FC

how long is the run-in period?

my car is about 3 months old and travel about 5000km liao.

RMK 202- http://rmkps.com/product.htmimproves air intake (thus improve ....) while heards it only works for auto car. and usually need 2.

VS- voltage stabilizer. battery current tend to Fluctuate. VS - suppose to enable to stabilitier the voltage - prolong battery life, improve...

Good luck then. Continue to monitor your FC and see.

Try filling to full, then wait until the warning light turns on.

Actually, a better way is to count from 3/4 full to warning light.. It is because different pump clicks at different time when you top up. So, start counting when it hits 3/4 full, and average the KM over a few tanks.

I guess what I am trying to say those cities same pattern as you? You have to compare apple to apple.

Even same route, smooth traffic and heavy traffic have effects on FC...

9 months. FC went up abt 5% after 10k servicing with syn oil 5w40. Run in FC varies from 8-10.5km/l now constantly about 10.5km/l

What's your driving pattern? A lot of city driving?

me 1 to 2 gear <3k. But I don't do it if there's a jam. Does he rev till 3k everytime just to move off regardless of traffic condition?

Also tyres pressure, did you check?
