Car Times' selling price is always much higher in d mkt cos' they are ISO certified but their OMV is higher. Called alot of other PIs that adverise on last sat's classifieds, most prices are quite competitive. You may refer to my attached file on d comparisons i made. Lowest quote i got is from pinnacle but was told that their reputation is .

 

Most PIs offer sports rims & leather seats in package if u are willing to pay more.

 

Yeah, me waiting for COE to drop too.. lets hope ..

Thanx for your clarification. I called my SE @ Pinnacle and the reply was no such offer! I was assured that they have given me the best offer. I think HL has a similar offer of $66,988 with the COE bidding pegged at $10K!

 

From what you clarified, topping up $3K for a guaranteed COE means $69,988 for a standard package.

 

They usually have some kind of offers during weekends. I wonder if there would be any better offers coming up. I was "warned" about the term "guaranteed" that it need not necessary mean what it is supposed to mean!

 

Anyway, upcoming COE prices are very likely going south. So do keep checking for the best deals.

Wow Belinda, you have certainly done quite a bit of homework eh? Thanx for the file. The figures are quite close to what I have gathered so far too. So have you decided to go for it and which PI are you planning to go for? I am likely to make my decision this weekend either with HL or Pin. Going for the chiffon green colour. I have seen the Airwave with the green colour at one of the PI's stock car park. Not too bad

Clarified w my pinnacle se abt d price of $66988 and he confirm that this is really what they are offering at d moment. So not sure why ur se tells u no such offer . He said that chances are good but likely got to wait for 2 more biddings..

 

I will be going to Pinnacle & HupLong tomorrow too, wants to confirm more details with them. Still can't make up my mind ..

 

I think my choice of colour is either black or storm silver. Would really like to get pearl white but still need to top up $1k - $2k. Not worth it..

 

Let me know which PI and what offer u take up when u confirm over d wkend ok .

I double clarified this morning & I did not get any positive confirmation. Guess my SE does not want to "confuse" me with more options?

 

The black Airwave looks very cool but since I have two previous black cars already, I am deciding to go for the more unique Chiffon Green. The green is less popular, and hardly any PI will want to bring it in as stock. Also I was told indenting for the green Airwave will also take a while longer. If your choice is black or storm silver, then the chance of getting your car should be higher, and sooner too.

 

Will update once I have decided and signed the agreement

Any idea if there's any diff in price in L & G versions? Understand that the L version has climate control & 7-speed auto & G has regular aircon & 4-speed auto.

Brilliant comparison tat u hv done . FYI, my OMV from CarTimes ( 1.5G Skyroof) is only $22.8 n not $25K as indicated in yr spreadsheet.

 

Another thing that you may want to consider is TRADE-IN Value. For my previous car, Pinnacle, HL and Hua Yang offer $2.5K lower than CarTimes.

 

In short, CarTimes pricing ( my view) is quite close to what other PI offers in term of Immediate (1 bid) delivery n resonable OMV value. The only setback at CarTimes is 1 YEAR or 20,000km warranty i.e. same as Japan. The rest all offer 3 years 60,000km local warranty.

FYI, there are friends in this FORUM who purchased their AIRWAVE from HL and Pinnacle with no hassle and top-up. So pretty safe to go with them. The only recommendations that I hv is delivery time . If SE can commit, then u r on the road to owning the car of your dream w/o too long.

 

Shopping for cars 2 me is never easy i.e. Big Ticket item. To reduce STRESS, KISS.

hi all

 

Oso a newbie here..

 

Very keen on the airwave, in fact signed sales agreement with pinnacle 1 mth back but din go ahead with the purchase due to insufficient car loan amount.

 

I am now driving a '03 matrix (7yrs loan) and to change car, i still need to top up $8k thats why need to get higher car loan. Now am hesitating if i should buy d airwave cos' its even a bigger commitment though i foresee there will be definate savings on my mthly instalment (10yrs loan), petrol and road tax..

 

Can anyone give me your personal advice? What will u do in my position?

my advise... "just do it"....

 

1. do your sum right...got to be truthful.

2. will there be other important commitment next few years?

3. should you cash out the 8K causing lossing any other opporunity cost in the near future?

4. 10 years.... will you leave the car 2 years later for AIRWAVE II ??

 

OR....

 

Just do it.... life is short...enjoy what you have

Of course there's a diff.... or i have been a sucker

 

beside the climate control and 7-speed, it do come with

- HID headlight

- bodykit

- Paddle shift control for the manual mode (triptronic)

- Waterproof mat (actually no big sxxt about this )

- 15" rim

- fog light should be standard

 

so.... L version OK...

If need to order from Japn, why not consider white... is pretty cool just hard to maintence. But since you have Black before, maintence shouidn't be any problem..

I oso notice Cartimes give a better trade-in value but still d price diff is too much if i decide to go for bidding @ $66988. Moreover d salesgal which approach me keep comparing & badmouthing other PIs which I don't find very professional.. so what if they are ISO certified .

Yeah, looking forward to my chiffon green. I had good offers from HL and Pinnacle but heard fair share of positive and negative comments about them. I was almost set on going with HL, but at the very last minute, was given a much better offer by another PI at the upper levels of AML. The offer was too good to miss. So in the end I went for that, but since I decided on Chiffon Green, I would have to wait about 2.5 months. So I am sure my neck is going to get longer and longer by the day. Hope I made the right choice about this PI. Every PI is talking bad about all other PIs.

 

It was really a big for me for the past weeks but I have finally done it! Prices are very likely to go down, with the new COEs released. So for those who are not in a hurry to commit, perhaps you might want to watch one or two rounds of CEO bidding first before deciding. Just a thought.

I have not seen the Airwave in white but can imagine it might be a beauty. Maintaining a black car is bad enough; I can imagine taming a white would be worst. Besides I would have to fork out another 1-2K for it. I have gone for the chiffon green instead

I personally don't find the $67K COE bidding deal attractive as the chance of getting the car may be low. I am suspecting the PIs will base this price at a COE bidding of $10K-12K. That's just my gut feel. But like what Airwave said, if you are really not in a hurry to get the car, then perhaps there is no harm giving it a try. Who knows, you might just get it .

 

I will wait "patiently" for mine! Can't wait to it.....
