I have called Hwa Keat and they quoted S$450. Hmm....not muh difference from getting Honda to do it. To replace one with Immobiliser, it cost S$580. Just need to drive the car to them and they will check the "code" of the car to see if it works because my Airwave was manufactured last year and it is still considered relatively new.

I will check out Toh Guan centre one tomorrow since I will be going to Bukit Batok.

 

There must be a place that can do the same thing for about S$300 you think?

The SE who sold the car to me told me to call the designated mechanic for their PI company, the price may be slightly better and they will use original Honda key. So lets hope it works out. But I am going to wait for a while in hope that whoever found the key might return it. Still can't figure out what one who finds the key can do with it since the car is not around for them to steal it.

Just to share with you AD Honda cars alarm/remote key.

 

1. you got 2 not 1 remote keys.. just in case you lose the first one, you have another.

2. the other one is not just to be on stand-by, but also act as your other spare key. (confused yet)

3. you see, if you lost 1 of the remote key, you obviously want it replaced and also the code changed.. so how? you get a new replacement key, program that to the new code, then also RE-program your original spare key to the new code.. so, you are back to the original set of 2 remote key but with another set of NEW codes.

 

This is important as you don't want to just get a replacement for the old one... you want new keys with NEW codes.

 

Since you don't know where you lost your keys and if someone u know actually took the keys and later still your car.

I only received 1 remote and 1 dup from my PI. So now I lost the remote, and using the dup. The dup doesn't function as a remote and have to manually lock/unlock the car.

 

I know where I lost the key and I was alone when I lost it. So I think the chances of the car being stolen is quite low right now, you think?

I was adviced an additional option to secure the car is to install an alarm system that is connect to the remote lock function of the car. Then, I do not need the "original" remote and it is less expensive.

The alarm system will have its own set of security code.

Help needed..

 

I am unable to shift my gear from P position to D position this morning upon starting my car. Engine sounds good and no weird indication. Just felt that the gear is stucked or locked at P position and unable to shift down.

 

Anybody encounter this problem before please share your experience and how to overcome it.

Happened to me before when the car was pretty new. Was told by workshop some fuse or brake switch was faulty, got it replaced and problem didn't came back. Meanwhile, you can insert your key in the shift lock, shift to N then start your car then after starting you can shift to D for the time being.

Press yr brake, if no light or press yr horn no sound yr fuse must hv burn. Did you upgrade yr horn recently if yes that must be the reason.

 

You can use yr key to insert in the bypass beside the gear shift after you stop yr engine you will hv to reset again. Get a fuse to replaces and fix up yr horn thing shall get back to normal.

Can try stepping your brake peddle a few time, just in case it did not engage the "clutch" properly.
