Skywalker Neutral Newbie July 26, 2005 Share July 26, 2005 Anyone know is there any marking on the tire to check whether is it a GSD3? Most shop quoted ~$180-190 for 215/45R17 but one shop quoted $165. Understand there are 3 generation of eagle F1, at that kind of cheaper price could it be made in Thailand or not the latest generation. ↡ Advertisement
Silver_blade Turbocharged July 26, 2005 Share July 26, 2005 There should be a marking. But you ccan also see the diff between GSD2 & GSD3 from the thread. The latter has an almost straight V-thread.
Thadeus6 Neutral Newbie July 26, 2005 Share July 26, 2005 $165 is a good deal. Is it nett price? Can share where this shop is? If not convenient to post, please PM. Thanks.

Skywalker Neutral Newbie August 11, 2005 Author Share August 11, 2005 Most tire shop will sell this as this is a very popular model.
Showtime Neutral Newbie August 13, 2005 Share August 13, 2005 i too... 17" just changed from pilot prededa to gsd3. immediate impression, less steering response.
Clio Neutral Newbie August 14, 2005 Share August 14, 2005 try driving for another 1000km. GSD3 needs hell alot of KM to scrub in. IMO, complete scrub in will be around 1500km for normal driving. or just whack the tire as hard as you could to scrub in faster. after that u will be very impressed... Showtime Neutral Newbie August 16, 2005 Share August 16, 2005 i am already impressed with the grip levels on this tyre... no doubt about it. but the steering response... sigh. its rubbery.

Clio Neutral Newbie August 16, 2005 Share August 16, 2005 mine quite hard leh...sidewall very hard...big difference compare to ES100 which is damn soft. maybe 15" thailand made compound is harder...i heard.
Showtime Neutral Newbie August 17, 2005 Share August 17, 2005 im not talking about sidewall stiffness... i use rubbery to discribe steering response specifically. the side walls are stiff.
Clio Neutral Newbie August 17, 2005 Share August 17, 2005 (edited) i dont understand what u mean... but do u notice rubber rubbing sound on cornering? like those quack quack quack quack sound? not understeering...just normal speed cornering Edited August 17, 2005 by Clio
Magfocus 5th Gear August 17, 2005 Share August 17, 2005 Its rubbery probably because the pressures are low. Try a higher pressure ↡ Advertisement
