  1. I am speechless, wordless, or whatever less... Instead of applying POFMA at the source of misinformation, it is used against our own social media platform for citing official news from the original source (and not the first occurrence for sure). Might as well as shut down all website, forums, etc. and just make do with The Straits Times, Channel News Asia and a few other official mouth piece. @kobayashiGT anything yet for MCF? Facebook, Twitter and HardwareZone forum served with Pofma directive over 'S'pore variant' claims SINGAPORE - Singapore's fake news law has been invoked by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in response to a statement circulating online claiming that there is a new variant of Covid-19 which originated in the Republic. The Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung has instructed the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (Pofma) Office to issue a correction direction to Facebook, Twitter and the HardwareZone forum owned by SPH Magazines, said MOH in a press release early on Thursday morning (May 20). The platforms will be required to carry a correction notice to all their users in Singapore. Have to summon my new found idol again...

    Sdp pofma case

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/pofma-challenge-sdp-mom-pmet-agc-judge-verdict-court-12273078 I think this specific case require a separate thread as I really think sdp case is strong. This should be a landmark court case that every singaporean who values freedom of speech should follow. mom is arguing as Long as they can prove one interpretation of your post is false, they can shut you up. I don’t want to live in North Korea. I hope the judge clarifies the law. If the law is so over reaching, I know exactly who to vote for. ps, I not sdp supporter. I think 90% of their suggested policies on their websites are populist destructive policies.
  3. A pretty good read. I hated pofma and how it was being exercised after being passed to law. This bill seems to be much worse. https://www.singaporelawwatch.sg/Headlines/anti-foreign-interference-bill-3-areas-of-concern-opinion
  4. MOH has came out to clarified whether true or not, the post sounds politically motivated lets sit back watch show in the meantime pls refrain from spreading unverified news later tio pofma
