TotalEnergies ends EV charging operation in S’pore, to transfer charging points to other operators TotalEnergies is ceasing its Singapore EV charging operations; all its stations will be transferred to other operators by Dec 31, following BlueSG's business pause. SP Mobility will take over chargers in HDB carparks, but these will be offline until late 2025. Shell will take over around 80 sites and upgrade the chargers where feasible. TotalEnergies had 1,465 of Singapore's 11,282 charging stations. The transfer doesn't impact TotalEnergies’ other activities in Singapore.

Source: https://mothership.sg/2022/09/bluesg-electric-opel/ BlueSG is launching 500 electric Opel Corsa-e hatchbacks gradually from October 2022, The Straits Times reported. The cost of the new cars was estimated to be about S$80 million, or S$160,000 for each car, at prevailing COE (certificate of entitlement) prices. BlueSG will have more than 1,000 cars on road A BlueSG spokesperson told ST that "200 or so" new Opel cars are on the way. If it goes according to plan, BlueSG, an exclusively electric car-sharing firm here, will have a fleet of about 1,000 cars in total before 2022 is over. There are some 800 two-door compact BlueCars on the roads in Singapore. BlueSG had some 650 cars plying the roads in Singapore in February 2021, and ST reported 250 more cars were gradually introduced subsequently. BlueCars are made in Italy. The Opel Corsa-e is Spanish-made. It has four doors. Acquired about a year ago In October 2021, home-grown engineering group Goldbell completed its acquisition of BlueSG from French transportation giant Bollore Group. The new Opel Corsa-e cars are being introduced almost a year after the acquisition. BlueSG is a loss-making business, ST reported. But Goldbell had said it would invest S$70 million up to 2026 to turn things around. Rental rates for the new cars, with more advanced features, are expected to be higher. Top photos via BlueSG

Source: https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/electric-car-sharing-firm-bluesg-to-wind-up-operations-on-aug-8 SINGAPORE - BlueSG will wind down its current operations on Aug 8 at 11.59pm, the electric car-sharing firm announced in a statement on Aug 4. It added that billing, account closures, and subscription adjustments and refunds will be managed until the end of the month. It said that it is embarking on a major platform upgrade to better serve the evolving needs of shared mobility in Singapore. The upgraded platform will introduce a refreshed fleet, expanded network, and enhanced technology. The new service is slated for launch in 2026. CEO of BlueSG Keith Kee said: “As the landscape evolved and we observed the potential scale of car-sharing users, it became clear that the current infrastructure of BlueSG needs to be upgraded fast to meet the demands of tomorrow. “That’s why we’re taking bold steps now to pause, minimise distractions and focus our resources on delivering a completely new platform.” More to come.

Source: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/totalenergies-charging-point-bluesg-electric-cars-5493971 SINGAPORE: TotalEnergies Charging Services Singapore is shutting down its electric vehicle charging operations locally, the company confirmed on Thursday (Nov 27). All of its charging points will be transferred to other operators by Dec 31, said a TotalEnergies spokesperson. This comes after BlueSG announced a sudden “strategic pause” of their electric vehicle point-to-point car-sharing operations in August. TotalEnergies, which had about 1,400 charging points in about 350 HDB carparks, was BlueSG’s appointed charge point operator. BlueSG was the only car-sharing platform that offered point-to-point services in Singapore. It said in August that it was preparing to relaunch operations in 2026. TotalEnergies confirmed that they had signed a termination agreement to transfer its charge point network to LTA that came into effect on Sep 30. The company’s spokesperson said this decision follows BlueSG’s move to pause its car-sharing operations. This decision has “no impact” on the company’s existing activities in Singapore, said the spokesperson. “We remain committed to supporting the Singapore Green Plan and the region’s energy transition needs,” the spokesperson added. SP Mobility will take over 63 of TotalEnergies’ charging stations from Nov 28, it said in an email to customers on Thursday (Nov 27). These stations cover 250 charging points and are located in areas like Bedok, Bishan, Hougang and Punggol. SP Mobility told CNA that it will progressively transition these charges onto its platform after the transfer, aiming to complete the process by Dec 19. These works will take place from Dec 8, and SP Mobility users can expect to access these charges on the app progressively from that day. After BlueSG ceased operations, TotalEnergies sought LTA’s agreement to terminate its contract, and LTA agreed, said a spokesperson for the authority. Since the TotalEnergies charging points at HDB carparks are part of Singapore’s public charging network, the government has arranged for them to be progressively taken over by operators that are already operating ones in HDB carparks at no additional cost to “reap operational and maintenance synergies”, said the LTA spokesperson.
