Guess you are looking the ads at SGSound. Anyway Genesis amps are great amps and they will be more than enough to drive your CDT CL62. As for street price. I am not sure.

Amplifiers do play a part. But the main sounding characteristic comes from the speakers. Genesis is a good amp which should give warmer soundng to the CDT CL62.

In my opinion, the Genesis may cost much more than the CDT CL62. Its a good choice as you can match a better component speakers to it next time if you want to upgrade!

To me, its always good to invest in a good amp. If not, look out for the lower end Rockford amp or Alpine amps.

I using a Cadence 4 X 74w at 4 ohm amp to drive my CDT CL62.

I only use 2 channel to drive it passive. I put it in the rear for rear fill. The mid is very clear and good. Wise choice. But the tweeter lose out. I tune it higher and sharper with PX701, it sound a bit tired. I wonder how it sound if I do it active in front. Is it worth the effort?

2 X 75w is enuf for normal listening. BUt Genesis is definitely an overkill for the price. And I fear its not power enuf in term of wattage when u wish to hear decent deep bass. Genesis is SQ amp. CDT is not so SQ. It can produce very decent bass too if given enuf power amp. So your bass may not sound as deep or full with Genesis. I suggest u buy cheaper 4 X 100w or 4 X 125w amp. Since 75w is actually underpowering. But nevertheless its enuf for normal listening. Just that u wasting money so ex 2 channel amp. Wih same money can buy 4 channel amp good for future if you plan to drive it active.

Spot on abt CDT. I find it much clearer on my Rainbow tag team with Genesis P2

Bcos rainbow is not that power hungry comapared to CDT. The nominal rms wattage required for rainbow is lesser than CDT. So the matching of rainbow and Genesis P2 is better.

A speaker and amp is only how good they are mixed and matched. U buy a very good amp and very good speaker, but their power doesnt match also no use.
