The cam itself has wifi connection. U can sync with your smartphone. But pls take note if u using live video, the recorded video fps will drop to 20fps.

Bought it together with T-Power external battery pack. So can test it out at home before installing on car. Noticed the cam still gets hot under full HD but not as hot like DR400-HD II. Video quality will degrade with minor foggy mist when cam gets hot overtime. But if use a table fan to blow the unit, the quality will recover back once the temp drop.

So parking mode under hot weather will still overheat the unit. But since it's powered from an external battery pack, once no more power will definitely cool down. <_<

I use it for 2 mth plus. The gps kaput. Totally no signal at all. Maybe due to overheating. This is my last blackvue product. Definitely not worth the $$.

I have it like 2 month already. Bought from qxx fedex from korea. English version and menu. Together with magic pro. DIY install and works great. Yes it will get hot but not that hot until you can't touch. Image quality so far no downgrade. Maybe I seldomly parked at the open space under hot sun. All are MSCP.

Hi bro, what model you using? Blackvue DR380G-HD?

I just bought a DR380G-HD but the English Firmware I downloaded from Pittasoft that was meant for this model had a voice message "The model information is different" when I started up engine to install the firmware from the micro sd card into the DR380G-HD.

The seller said he will supply me the English firmware but the micro sd card was empty when I received it.

Will email the seller to ask if he can email me the English firmware soon.

Strangely, the GPS is online after 1 month MIA. Lolz, there is custom firmware for this DR500 la. Can play around with the setting. But if you plan to on this cam for 24/7, please do not park directly in the hot sun.

Thinking of buying this Blackvue DR500GW-HD also. Like the idea of using android phone to watch and

download recorded video to phone via wifi, can also control/adjust the camera settings as well right?

But seems like the overheat problem still exists in this model and I parked mostly at open carpark.

My GPS seem to have gone MIA too. Lets see whether it works when I go to M'sia. Perhaps too many buildings and cloudy weather here and the GPS chip not sensitive enough. [:(]

This new version is good, finally a iphone friendly apps that works with new blackvue 500 via WIFI.

But the sad part is to all of us who have bought the 380 or the 400-HD is a bit sian.

If this function have been out on these previous 2 model, sure will be more easy for us to access our video.

The new 500-HD seems like can update the blackvue via WIFI without the trouble to bring our micro SD card to PC, and back to our blackvue.

check the video below for more easy unstanding point.

Just gotten the set and would let to add....

Nothing to sian about while the wifi is nifty, the image quality is only so so.

Don't be fooled by the demo videos which runs at higher bit rate, out of the box the bitrate is either 5000kbps (high compression) or 7500kbps (normal compression) , can't even see the opposite car's number plate in a public car park, due to the wide angle , can't see clearly at the side either.

Unless you are willing to hack the firmware to use 12000/15000kbps bit rate.

Cameras with wdr eg dod tech has better image quality.

Wa bro! This car cam tok kong man! I saw the specs and is a serious contender to upstage the ITB-100HD / SP !

And you're right that it can be used indoors n outdoor, more cost effective than just a car cam!
