Lada comes back from the future with Xray concept which is probably the best design Russia has ever produced besides the Marussia supercars. Is a new auto industry emerging from a country which has an expanding car market?

Russian auto giant AvtoVAZ debuted the Lada Xray concept crossover at the 2012 Moscow Auto Show. The concept's name is derived from the X-shape on its face, which looks like the Spindle grille of Lexus.

For some reason AvtoVAZ is not putting the Xray up for production though the new look might be the new family face for future production vehicles by 2015. The Xray concept was designed by Steve Mattin, AvtoVAZ's new design chief who penned the 1997 Mercedes-Benz A-Class and current Volvo XC60. The British-born Mattin was also the former vice president and design director of Volvo Cars.

"It's got a fairly long heritage and is a key player in the Russian market, it's an interesting time." Mattin said in an interview.

  • A 20-year journey, an old passion rekindled

For us 90s babies, the Holy Trinity of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network formed a big part of our childhood. The internet was just about coming into fruition, with the rise of a plethora of websites with numerous entertaining flash games and of course, the early days of YouTube. And though those things have come and gone, one thing in my life remained constant: My love for Pokemon. I first got into Pokemon 20 years ago, and I remember exactly how it went down. Let me set the

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a brutal sport that, in recent decades, has grown to significant prominence.  Whatever you make of the sport (and the often complicated and sometimes problematic climate that swirls around it), there's no denying its popularity, driven in large part by the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) brand - a multi-billion-dollar global enterprise.  But if partially-clothed men/women beating the s*it out of each other is not quite your thing, may I interest you in

Cordless vacuum cleaners: A young adult's best friend?

Every young adult probably arrives at the same point when they’ve started working for a few years: Household chores start to become more enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong – they don’t have to be one’s favourite activity on earth. But chores start to make sense: An environment that’s put-together is always a welcome haven, whether it’s returning home after a long day out, or simply staying in over the weekend (or when you’re working from home.) As a young adult myself, I've come to appreciate an

    Fascinated by honey

If there's one natural food (aka can be eaten raw) that I absolutely love, it's honey. Yes, there are countless varieties from around the world, but for this story, we'll talk about the kind that comes straight out of a hive, complete with honeycomb. I'm not an expert on this topic, but every time I consume raw, unprocessed honey, it tastes a lot better compared to honey that comes in a jar. No squeeze-bottle honey for me, please. Perhaps it's just my imagination, but raw honey doesn't
