Are cyclists getting out of hand these days?

We'd say so as more and more videos of cyclists ignoring traffic rules and getting angry with other road users have been surfacing. It doesn't help as COVID has encouraged more people to workout, with cycling fast becoming one of the more popular choices/excuses to get out of the house.

According to SG Road Vigilante, this incident between 2 cyclists and the camera car happened on 30th August 2020 at 17:15 along east coast road. As the road is a single lane road, SGRV claims that the camera car wanted to overtake and horned at the cyclists that he/she is proceeding with an overtaking maneuver.

Unfortunately, the cyclist wasn't happy and started some 'ah-beng taunting' actions.

Do you think the cyclists in the videos are self-entitled? Or do you reckon the driver should have just queued up and drove slowly behind them? Let us know!

I think this cycling issue is just like the chewing gum issue. Without a ban, the issue won't be solved because we have too many black sheep, some Chao AM think they are the boss here. I believe if LKY was to be around, he will be firm on resolving such recurring nuisance.

Just like the PMD incident in which a pedestrian died before the ban was enforced, nothing will be done until perhaps one fine day, a lorry bull dozes its way through a convoy of cyclists cycling 2 to 3 rows abreast.

someone gotta  start a petition to get LTA to consider licensing these cyclists so that cyclists can be covered by insurance in times of an accident. Otherwise these cyclists will have no liability for the harm they bring about, no duty of care and treat the road like their 'ah gong'...

I seriously reckoned it is about time that LTA starts to consider and make the road a safer place for all users...

  • Japan: The trend that became a turn-off

Ahh Japan. The destination that many travellers desire. The perennial trending subject on social media. Japanese cuisine, culture, quirks, technology, and everything kawaii have inspired endless posts, stories, reels, YouTube videos, and TikToks. If one didn't know better, you'd think it was the dream destination on this planet. While I love the food, the service and the shopping, the sheer number of tourists (me included) has become a turn-off. I'm not talking about those who inconven

Note: Click here to read Pt. 1, where the journey began in Hong Kong. NEXT UP: CHONGQING Day 3, cont.: Dad had decided on the scenic route to Chongqing - train. We did not realise that the immigration process at the Hong Kong Kowloon West station involved both the Hong Kong and Chinese authorities, so we found ourselves in a rush to board the train (we boarded minutes before the scheduled departure). Through the eight-hour journey, the passing sights made me realise the diversity

Forget the Future - Embrace the Past

Ah, the future. That shiny, chrome-plated paradise we're all supposed to be chasing. Well, I say bollocks to that. Let's take a cheeky detour down memory lane instead, shall we? Imagine you're lounging in a velvet smoking jacket, sipping brandy from a crystal snifter, surrounded by dusty tomes and antique globes. Sounds rather spiffing, no? That's because old is gold, methinks. While everyone else is frantically scrolling through their social media feeds, we'll be gleefully embracing t

The fun in collecting postcards without (really ever) sending them

I believe I may not be alone when I say that I’m quite the avid collector of postcards, but rarely ever send them out to family or friends. To some, this might seem counterintuitive, even wasteful. But for me, these miniature works of art serve a different purpose. They're windows into distant lands; time capsules of bygone eras; and conversation starters par excellence. In fact, in a city as fast-paced as Singapore, where our lives often revolve around our vehicles and the next destination
