Spas Neutral Newbie September 14, 2005 Share September 14, 2005 features as in exterior? if u mean features as in everything, well maybe. if it's for a lady i guess. depends on the prospective buyer no?
Felipe 3rd Gear September 14, 2005 Share September 14, 2005 think i will share some info since im driving 147. features wise- the 147 has traction control (can turn off), EBD, ABS, cruise control, all the trip meter stuff, dual zone aircon, temperature sensors and loads of style. i can't help wenever i look at my gauges, with italian written all over it- Giri, Benzina etc). just makes me high each time i get into it. ok im getting distracted, sori. with all these features, seems like very good rite? frankly, thats not why i bought the car. to be honest, the car could have come without these things and at 10k less, i would still buy it. the ultimate reason is the drive! imagine the twinspark engine, the sweetest engine note (typical of Alfa) u could hear from its class. the revs, floor the car and u just wana wind down the windows and turn off the radio and hear that roar. the sweet handling, push it through the corners and the car's handling is just superb. besides the drive, the alfa looks amazing...no wonder they say beauty is not enough. its not just a car that looks good and can't live up to it. it looks gd and drives even better. i dun care how those evos and wrx can go faster. the thing is i will never get the same feeling as compared to when i hold that meaty 147 steering, plus the beautiful interior with ferrari looking clusters. if ure into this thing called 'driving dynamics', the 147 is the one. i tested the megane b4 too. the tiptronic is a 4 speed. its too smart for me, downshifts wen i dun wan to, it rules me. i dun want that. i wana rule the car. but yea, its more comfy and more spacious. but hell, im not lookin for that. im looking for a kick ass machine that doesnt rip my wallet. so without hesitation, i rang the alfa SE. told him my terms and if ok, i will sign. no regrets and even mine's red plated, it makes up for everything else. all depends on who u are and wat u wan. not putting down other cars here. just that nobody buys an alfa by chance. u'll never find an alfa owner who says,'oh i bought bcos have a family now'. they'll all say they love the drive, period. Adam251 Neutral Newbie November 30, 2005 Share November 30, 2005 finally test drove the megane last week and compare with the focus ... my 2cents conclusion : Features and storage - Renault Megane is the winner ...its packed full of features, multiple storage spaces even under the mat on driver side got a hidden floor storage space useful for those who go JB often ... 6 air-bags ...etc..etc.. Driving comfort and handling - Ford Focus wins hands down. Try driving through South Buona Vista from end to end and you will know what I mean .... Price- difference about $7000 (Megane more ex). My Personal choice - Ford Focus ... why?? .. cos I'm the driver ... what drives you??

Limi Neutral Newbie December 5, 2005 Share December 5, 2005 u'll never find an alfa owner who says,'oh i bought bcos have a family now'. they'll all say they love the drive, period. I buy bcos I have a family now... cos got 6 airbags and ASR... safer... hahaha... this is exactly what I say to my wife when I try to phyco her to get the 147... But in the end, she dun care about all these safety features and got bought over by the 147 looks... Seriously, back to the thread, I will get the Focus anytime for it's driving dynamics... EvenStar 1st Gear December 18, 2005 Share December 18, 2005 (edited) Drove the Megane in France during a business trip. The car is great to drive, but the FC is really disappointing esp. for City driving. Lucky we got the diesel version but it still cost a bomb. Renault is also not very reliable, even the French think so. Anyway, if you really want a Megane, take the Hatch, it may look ugly at first but the look will grow on you.
