It is from Hongkong. SG stores could have brought them in earlier and possibly sold out. So, the alternative is to buy from Yesasia, which is very safe.

Some info for you to read below regarding the production. From their website:

First time our customer can listen to the exact same master tape at home. Both 192kHz & 96kHz files are included, to provide maximum playback compatibility, without scarify using inferior SRCs (sample rate converter) on computer, soundcard and other up-sampling devices. The Audiophile Jazz Prologue III arrived last evening. I am both delighted and excited, because there are only 1,250 copies made available and I am lucky enough to be the 186th person to own this very limited quantity CD mastered by a renowned Hong Kong mastering engineer.

I ran my amp warm for an hour or so before dimming down the light in the room. After a sip of the red wine of a chilled glass, I placed the CD-R onto the tray and started playing the first track. I listened out for information that gave signs of ambience, not difficult. The background of the recording was dark. There wasn't any sign of compression at all. The double bass and percussion appeared at the foreground of the sound stage, nice and intimate. The Canadian singer appeared in the centre and stood higher than the tweeters on the floorstander. First impression of the recording, the vocal is warm, the projection was very naturally, I know why now. A tube mic was used to record her vocals. I continued to be mesmerised by the "real" recording, sipping by the red wine, tapping my fingers gently on the armrest not knowing that it was past 11pm.

Jazz Prologue III is an audiophile effort to bring to the consumers the best in recording. Their philosophy and spirit got my attention and admiration. They sourced for the very best CD-R in Japan and manufactured each CD-R as if it is a master tape. To every numbered CD-R is a report (printed on a Kodak Digital Royal paper) of the less than 2 BLER (Block Error Rate), reducing jittery to 0% and producing a 100% transparency result. You can pick up the information from the website I have posted earlier.

This limited edition package also comes with a DVD that can only be played on computers, NOT DVD, CD or SACD players. If you are using a Mac, you will be able to experience some of the best audio off your PC if your MAC supports reading AIFF files. Try comparing both DVD and CD-R and indulge yourself in some of the best jazz audiophile recording ever made.

Act fast if you want to own this package. Like I have said earlier, only 1,250 copies made available. But if luck is not with you, don't fret, they will come out with the normal version subsequently. Bottomline, don't settle for less.

It was the first day of March in year 2008 at Republic Polytechnic. Skye, a female vocalist from St James Power Station, appeared at the Music Studio in her usual shades and warm jacket. The studio was cool, the ceiling was 14ft high, and spacious. The walls were treated with wooden acoustic deadening.

Skye was not the first to arrive, the recording engineer, Todd Garfinkle from M.A. Recording was doing his final round of checks on the B & K microphones and crystal cables. The musicians were tuning up their instruments once more before the Live Direct to 2-track DSD commences. The instruments layout were simple: two guitars, an acoustic bass, bamboo and western flute and percussion.

The recording started, the task was simple yet demanding. There would be 11 songs, the concept is purist, no post-mastering and mixing and all will be done in one take.

Got you, I was not at the recording session. This is another new CD review I am bringing to you. And yes, this is a local production, done at our very Republic Polytechnic at Woodlands. The project is a success, the album was very well done, I could not believe this was a local production at all till I first listened at home and in my car.

Except for the last track's

Neutral Newbie

Like to share this CD recommended by a friend. Was touched and moved by her voice and presentation. Her voice had no listening fatigue as per advertise. Personally, I like track 1. [thumbsup]

Can get this CD from THATS CD, don't seem to find it anywhere.....prices abit on the high side [lipsrsealed], but consider the recording quality, well worth it.
