I do it once in a while to blow carbon. [thumbsup]

That's the time I got caught along Gambas for speeding some time back. [:/]

My engine is actually quite smooth at redline. Yours might just b the loud engine as your soundproofing is not so good.

I regularly bring to 4-5K RPM for a few seconds just to give the engine a workout & also see if I can detect any problems during this time.

Ya, mine don't have any soundproofing.blush.gif

I also clear carbon once in a while, but rpm only reached around 4k rpm in 5th gear and speed around 130 ~ 140 km/hr........dare not go any higher cos old car, something may give way. sweatdrop.giflaugh.gif

It's good to rev to redline once in a while as you can detect problems which r not so obvious at slow speeds.

If u don't want to speed, just redline it in 2nd or 3rd gear on an empty stretch of the e'way for a few seconds.

Never redline in neutral as this is not good for the engine.

Hello Meoo...

didnt have any specific brand to recomment but if u fix it at JB , half or 60-70% the price of local...if budget restraint like me , can try to grounding only...without the capacitor..!

I think you will feel the different more on older car.
