I'd believe you could exceed 35 km/h if you shift up to 2nd gear.

last time sat in my uncle's XJ, 200 km/h also no feeling one, contis are really steady at high speed

they are meant for such high speeds......like on the Autobahn...where 300km/h is the norm

 

and yeah, u dun feel it....one look at the speedo and 'OMG, above 200 ah'
