Spas Neutral Newbie November 11, 2005 Share November 11, 2005 (edited) More Alfa Romeo Brera pictures. This time more "candid" shots lah. Finally of the engine bay and more of interior too. Plus a blue colour one somemore. Anyway, plans for making a GTA version of the Alfa Romeo Brera have been revealed (though not confirmed). The Alfa Romeo Brera GTA will be a 3.2litre too, but one that pushes out a peak of 405bhp. What a monster. Hope they go through with that. 'nuff talk. Now for the visual stuff: Who would like to get their hands on one? I know i do. Hmmm. SHOULD arrive in singapore by end 2006. Maybe even mid-2006. Who knows. Another piece of good news is that the Maserati-AlfaRomeo alliance is now in force. Although they are both still under Fiat (together with Ferrari), but Maserati would share their performance engineering and all the other crap with Alfa Romeo (Maserati was previously aligned with Ferrari). So hopefully this'll improve Alfa's performance and allow for even greater driving experience. Fortress Clutched November 11, 2005 Share November 11, 2005 Thought they have cancelled this GM/Fiat collaboration for this car.
Spas Neutral Newbie November 11, 2005 Author Share November 11, 2005 Err, they have. But the entry-level Brera will still have a "reconditioned" GM 3.2litre V6. I think Alfa's just take their share of the engines made during the now defunct GM-Fiat collaboration. Like i said in another post, these Gm 3.2 litre V6 engines will be made in Melbourne, Australia. So, it's Fiat-Maserati and Ferrari now, when it was previously Fiat and Maserati-Ferrari. Well, at least that's what i've got from some news reports and websites. :) Seems to be consistently true. Tron Neutral Newbie November 11, 2005 Share November 11, 2005 i believe u meant the GTA engine wld be 4.2l?? A 3.2l NA doin 400bhp is pushin it a bit far... even a highly tuned 3.2l doin 350bhp is very impressive. i believ its even cheaper to tune a 4.2litre V8 to 400bhp+ than to rework the 3.2 to give out the same amt of power (if it can even achieve it in the 1st place without forced induction...) Maser & Alfa now have the same German boss: Karl heinz kalbfel formerly frm BMW. Previous boss of Maser was an American formerly from Ford; his name is Martin leach if im not wrong. Spas Neutral Newbie November 11, 2005 Author Share November 11, 2005 MY BAD. Read wrongly. Haha. I thought it was a little weird. You're right. It's 4.2litres. "the GTA will be powered by a 4.2 litre V8 engine with Multiair delivering 440 bhp and no less than 500 Nm of torque. Not only does will this engine deliver more power than existing Maserati units, it will also be 15% more efficient in fuel economy." Heard Maserati's boss Martin Leach (former boss of Ford Europe) is gonna join Karl Heinz. So think maybe Alfa could be at a turning point in the next 3 to 4 years. This is how the Brera GTA may look like...

En0203 2nd Gear November 11, 2005 Share November 11, 2005 damn pretty this one but too bad it's a hatch. i prefer something like the GT, with a little bit of backside protruding out
Spas Neutral Newbie November 12, 2005 Author Share November 12, 2005 Yea. agree. the Brera looks too much like a hatch back. But the GT is also a hatch, though it doesn't have a rounded backside.

Madsumm 1st Gear November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 Its a love hate stuff with Brera. They fore-go the sports pertruding dials with a more "BMW" like dials for the console (with the chrome circles. I prefer the original ones (in GT) that Alfa stormed the whole market with. The centre console looks great! The speakers.. *sigh*.. looks like they can have only one placed at the feet of the passengers and drivers... got to work that out if you are in ICE. Ok.. enuff said.. must see one "actual" one to know.. and of course.. test drive one!!! Rgds
Felipe 3rd Gear November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 yea, the old dials were nicer...tats y i still prefer the GT. but an alfa is still nicer than any other car in its class out there any day. speaking about ICE, one of the worst things that i experience ever since i drove Alfa is it always comes btwn me wanting to listen to my stereo loud and clear. damn, with my previous cars, i always turn the vol high unless there are passengers. now with alfa, i always turn it to medium max. w/o trying to be long winded, i think u all know the reason why. this is also why i didn't wana invest into a better system cos i know theres another acoustic distraction elsewhere. the only thing i bought was ipod and the relevant cable. this way, at least i can use it in public transport and store data. maybe thats y the speakers are at the bottom?? driving an alfa has certainly altered some of my driving habits...damn cant have everything i guess
Madsumm 1st Gear November 13, 2005 Share November 13, 2005 ICE... *double sigh*.. For Alfa.. only 2 roads.. Either u listen to the ICE or listen to engine....kekeke Rgds ↡ Advertisement
