Kelpie 2nd Gear November 19, 2005 Share November 19, 2005 IMHO, SUVs don't look nice with low profile tyres. The style doesn't fit. Regards,

Joshark Neutral Newbie November 23, 2005 Share November 23, 2005 Not too low, must go with at least 17" and above wheels
Essentiale Neutral Newbie November 24, 2005 Author Share November 24, 2005 the bigger the rins, the lower the profile?
Valjean Neutral Newbie November 24, 2005 Share November 24, 2005 Yah, bigger rims mean thinner tyres to ensure that diameter remains more or less constant after the change. Thin = low profile.
Essentiale Neutral Newbie November 24, 2005 Author Share November 24, 2005 so in that case it wld be alright for my ride to have a low profile tyre on..say an 18 inch? tucson btw..
Valjean Neutral Newbie November 24, 2005 Share November 24, 2005 It's alright in the sense that your Tucson can accomodate 18inch rims. The question is whether you want anot. Like someone mentioned, big rims and low-profile tyres look out-of-place on a SUV because a real off-roading SUV needs fat, fat tyres to tackle the terrain. But then again, S'pore SUVs are only driven on-road, so there's no issue if you really wanna go with the big sportscar rims. Other considerations are the effects of bigger rims on the drive (and costs as well)...

Turbonetics 2nd Gear November 24, 2005 Share November 24, 2005 are low profile tyres recommended for suvs? ofcos not recommended... suv are also meant for mountain climbing... if use too low profile, the tyre will puncture easily...plus the heavy weight... some more also not nice on suv.... ↡ Advertisement
