Need Help on seat toledo 1.8 auto gearbox

Hi guys i need help on my seat toledo 1.8 autogear box which is diag by servo n cfm gearbox gone liao. Repair needs 2-3k plus with torque convertor change just to take the power. Any idea if i can use vw passat turbo gearbox? Thanks.

Thanks anyway. Any idea whIch car gearbox suit for mine? but i need to upgrade my gearbox torque convertor to take the load.

Well, your engine is a 1.8L 20 Valve per cylinder transverse mounted type and the closely that suit will be the Elegance 1.8T. [;)] ...

The Seat uses a 1.8 tranverse engine, of which the turbo version is used in most VW group cars like the Golf, Bora, Skoda Octavia and Audi A3... think that you should be able to use a box from one of these...

 

As for upgrading the convertor, I believe that you may need to send it overseas for upgrading... see levelten.com

Try looking for parts from the scrap yard. Just curious, how old is the car and what is actually wrong with the gearbox that requires a change. In my view, changing the whole item is a little over the top.

Well, if I am not wrong, what he meant is servicing the gears in the gearbox, valve body and of cause, torque converter as it's the main culprit cause it transmit the power from the engine to the gearbox in order for the drive shaft to move. However, if it's faulty, it will transfer irregular signal to the gearbox and hence might damage the system. That's why is advisable for Auto Transmission to upgrade the Torque Converter to a much durable system for preventive measures [sweatdrop][cool] ...

Hi thanks for so much respond. Well i put on td04 turbine n gas thingy haha tats y gearbox buay thong. Anyway i selling off liao and will take out everything but of cos will fix the gearbox 1st then sell. Already change another car liao.
