Hi bro, i'm rather quite confused on how to pump my tire to the correct pressure..

I enter 250 at the shell pumping station, so when should i actually stop the pumping of the tyre? Until the "Tink" sound? [sweatdrop]

the old one is u need to turn the needle till the optimum pressure, once set, pump ur tyre n there'll be a tink tink sound. the more air goes in the faster the tink tink sound. as it reaches closer n closer to the pressure u setted, the sound will be slower n finally stop. tats it.

for the new one, also same, just tat u oni set the pressure throught digital button rather turnin the knob at the side to set the needle to the rite pressure.

my tyre workshop n mech told mi to pump pressure at 200. cos he said when car moving, the pressure in tyre will still go up due to the heat.

if travel long distance, like to malaysia, can pump at 180.

the new one also need to set the optimum pressure tat u need, different pple wanna pump different pressure. if u just pump without settin, it'll just use the settin set by previous car

Actually for long distanct journey, you should set it higher pressure. This is to minimise fatique stress to your tyre side wall....

check your tyre pressure early in the morning when it is cool.

Pump 240 kpa for all sedan tyres (regardless of size/profile). Check with a manual pressure gauge (buy from hardware shop only few dollars)

yah...stop after the tink tink sound for old type of pump...

new one is digital one...

nope, bigger profile = larger pressure.

The rational is that it reduces tyre flex because the "steel frame" of the wheels are further apart thus offer less support closer to the middle.

The general rule of the thumb is 2psi increase for every 1 inch increase in wheel size.

I notice a few time taxi uncles pumps at 200 and also wonder "enough meh?".. My accent manual already recommend 207-230 (for 175/70/R13) depending on car load, and that is supposed to be when tyre is still cold. [confused]

I feel that old pressure pump is slightly more accurate than the digital ones...

The digital seems to over pressure it first & then releasing the air until it "beep".

I pump 240, 225/40/18
