Genie47 1st Gear January 12, 2006 Share January 12, 2006 Yes, as much as that according to John Taylor. He hates the rain when he does his world record feats. That is why most of them took place in dry Australia. ↡ Advertisement

Bossman Neutral Newbie January 12, 2006 Author Share January 12, 2006 surprising updates guys !!! My fuel consumption went back to normal. Why I believe this is so becoz at 3/4 tank full I have managed to clock 210km which from my experience with the car,is the normal standards.... hmm...besides that,I feel the acceleration and pickup is somewhat slightly better...can this be due to the recent change of battery ? maybe when the I start the car with a weak battery the spark plugs did not function at optimum levels.... i dunno...anyone got experience to share ? Trex101 3rd Gear January 12, 2006 Share January 12, 2006 I just realised a week back that my FC is also affected by my ATF condition. I was getting torque slip (auto-box) when I floored the pedal and when I changed out the ATF, it gave me much more mileage. (torque slip also reduced) For same driving pattern..... before ATF flush, my FC had gone down to ~ 6 to7 km/l. After the flush, it went up ~ 8.5 to 9.5 km/l under the same driving conditions/pattern. Hey improvement of 2-2.5km/l is alot. What other servicing did you do along with your ATF change? Dwoon 1st Gear January 13, 2006 Share January 13, 2006 Actually, nothing else except that as all others had already been done 3 weeks prior. The ATF was the last item pending. Perhaps it is also my driving style causing the torque slip, which I think could be the cause for low FC.

Kozen Neutral Newbie January 16, 2006 Share January 16, 2006 I see. Thanks! I did a servcing (change engine oil, time belt etc..) on my car on 31th Dec 2005, and my technician said i have to come back once my car click 10Km or 30th June whichever is earlier, so can the engine oil and coolant water really last for 10Km or 6 mths???? Or i have to top up the engine oil and coolant in-between this period myself, and the 10Km is just servcing on car only?
Kanchelsk 2nd Gear January 16, 2006 Share January 16, 2006 most likely the engine oil n coolant won't drop so drastic unless there's a leak in the tank... as for the 10k servicing.. u have to check ur service booklet to see wat is being check/replace/top up/change... Clusterbx Neutral Newbie January 16, 2006 Share January 16, 2006 10K servicing, usually change engine oil, oil filter, air filter (optional), spark plug (if it's the stock plug). Still better to check your service manual for accuracy.
Genie47 1st Gear January 16, 2006 Share January 16, 2006 Fuel consumption. As for servicing schedule, check manual but some things are a given. Check all fluid levels once a week. Tire pressure once a month. ↡ Advertisement
