En0203 2nd Gear February 11, 2006 Share February 11, 2006 but rotarys are meant to be driven hard hehe yea in fact i am curious, for those ppl who test drove both vtec (any Type-R) and renesis, which one feel more free-revving towards the redline?? Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie February 12, 2006 Author Share February 12, 2006 I am surprised that there are 39 votes for the CL7R and only 35 votes for the 159. Seems like the majority prefers: Raw Power, Honda's IL-4, Speed & High Redline to 5 Stars NCAP ratings, Alfa's IL-4 and handling.
Wankie Clutched February 12, 2006 Share February 12, 2006 eh you looking for the majority to validate your future decision is it honestly, i prefer the looks and the mod potential of the CL7R over the 159 the 159 wagon would be an entirely different story
Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie February 12, 2006 Author Share February 12, 2006 No. But just wanted to see how the majority thinks. Anyway, the 159 is out of the running... Will decide by end Feb
Wankie Clutched February 12, 2006 Share February 12, 2006 hmmm.....interesting eh how come no audi a4 or golf GTI? btw i'm putting my $ on CL7R
Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie February 13, 2006 Author Share February 13, 2006 Don't like the new Corporate Face of the Audi. Tried the Golf GTI but its a hatch..... I want a sedan Who did you bet with?

Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie February 17, 2006 Author Share February 17, 2006 I love the 93 Combi.... but there are 2 drawbacks for me, (this is just me and may not apply to everyone): [ol] [*]slush box and no special indent for 6 speed manual available [*]high mark up by TE on all Saabs [/ol]
Tron Neutral Newbie February 17, 2006 Share February 17, 2006 agree... Saab & audi markups here are simply ridiculous to say the least.. im sure Saab enthusiasts here are salivating at the prospect of modding the 2.8 turbo in the sportcombi... but its still FWD isnt it? does TE bring in the 93 sedan wit the same 2.8v6 turbo? i realise it is available in the states.. even wit a slushbox i am impressed wit the modded 95s on how it held its own on the NS highway... but not for long esp since "iron balls" (u kno who) was in the fray! btw, y is the 159 out of the running for u? Wankie Clutched February 17, 2006 Share February 17, 2006 i saw a 93 combi in the flesh recently, not as impressive as in the pics, dunno why. macam anti-climax....
Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie February 17, 2006 Author Share February 17, 2006 (edited) Hi Tron Yes, the 2.8L V6 is in the Sedan and the Combi. These are badged as Aeros. The former Aeros are now badged as Vectra. 159 is out of the running simply because it will only come in May/June....... Sold my 156 week after CNY and am car-less now. So will probably buy what is currently available. If AR has a 2.8 V6 in the 159, it would be very tempting. But alas it is a IL-4 2.2 JTS and a 3.2 V6 JTS. Cool_jazz Neutral Newbie February 17, 2006 Author Share February 17, 2006 IMHO, it looks It is not sexy like the 156 SW but it is handsome in an understated way.
Wankie Clutched February 18, 2006 Share February 18, 2006 (edited) i'm sure it has more practical usable space compared to a 156SW just that i was really bowled over by all the pics etc and when i actually saw one being driven on the road it was like err, hmmm...what was it that excited me in the 1st place??
