hi guys,

am new here and seemed like i'd only be able to post new threads after i've made 15 postings... anyway, dat aside.

I'm looking to get me first set of wheels.. am looking at the the budget of around 110-115k. Any reccomendations?

Knew the new passat is going for 115. Went to the VW showroom 2 weeks back but no one seemed wanting to tend to me and the SEs suck big time... thanks! [:)]

That is a good budget...

You should go and test drive the following, (in no particular order): [ol] [*]Passat, [*]BMW 320 (the Asian Aerospace version selling for S$123k), [*]Subaru Legacy GT [*]Honda Accord Euro-R [*]Audi A4 2.0L (slightly above S$120k) [*]Alfa 159 (must wait for it to be launched in Mar/Apr) [*]Saab 93 (about S$105k) [*]Saab 93 Combi (about S$116k) [*]Volvo S40/V50[/ol]

Only after the test drives will you know which car you want to live with for the next few years wink.gif

thx for your suggestions mate. Will be looking at those... I'll wait a couple of months though as there are quite a number of new cars comming out during the first 2 quaters this yr like the IS250, Volvo S60 etc... hopefully the new car prices for the different brands will be more competative and offer beta deails.. [sly]

btw, any ideas whats the dimension specs for the alfa 156Jts? nothing mentioned from the website as i checked.... cheers! [:)]

IS250 will probably be priced about S$130k.

All 156jts have been sold. I think only 2 test drive cars left. They are waiting for the new 159 wink.gif

If only those auto cars on my list comes in manual here in Singapore. BUT sadly they dont.

Steptronics is not the best of both worlds. Sequential manual like the DGS, Selespeed, SMGII are the best of both worlds. thumbsup.gif

BUT I love to be in control so a pure manual would rate very highly with me laugh.gifsly.gifwink.gif

I'll wait and see what the price like when it gets launched late this month. Spoke to one of the sales guy b4 CNY that it'll be priced from 120-130. There'll be 2 versions. The standard and luxury (which will be 10k more expensive. not sure the difference though).

If its 120, i'll definitely try to get my Mrs to stretch my budget a bit more.. hopefully. [;)]

hey bro, changing yr 156 oredi?

if u looking at another sporty drive, i'd recommend trying out a pssst-pssst this time round instead of another italian NA. sly.gif btw, why not consider the M6 MPS? read in some overseas reviews that it outclasses the LGT.

Hello Soya,

Yeah.... sold my 156 liao. So now looking and thinking about another Italian or the Euro-R laugh.giflaugh.gif

Psst-pssst? I love the 93 Combi but the mark-up is shakehead.gifthumbsdown.gif

The V50T5 was on my shortlist, but it was not well received at home......

So looks like NA is the way to go.....

Cheers
