Drag First gear..any solution??

Guys, my nissan sunny seems to like always drag at first gear...what can be done to resolve this...resetting ecu? get a volt-stab/ez-stab??

 

or "its like this, auto car mah"

You mean you want it to upchange earlier ?

 

I find you can prompt it to do so by lifting off the throttle lightly, should jump to 2nd gear. Happens to me normally in the mornings.

 

Other than that I dont know of any technical solution, let the transmission electronics re-learn your patterns, maybe the person who drove before you is a dragster.....

just ease on the pedal n dun stamp it... it should upshift~

as in the first the first gear will be like..."ummmmm" then change to 2nd gear, i didnt step hard on the pedal..

now that u mention it, my car seems to have this "effect" when i move off fr my carpark in the morning or after a day of parking outside...how come? u have any slight ideas? or anyone does here?

My Sunny also like that in the morning or when it is cold. It is normal coz the gearbox not yet warm up. After drive for a while when the gearbox is up to the temperature, u will not get the "umph" when from 1st to 2nd gear.

Can try changing to open pod. Open pod change veri fast from 1st gear to 2nd. Else go for MT la.

I tink is not juz only the Sunny lidat... My Protege oso lidat when I first start off in the morning, but once warm up then its gone...

yah... i think the engine and gearbox havn't warmed up yet,

 

my corolla also, in the morning if nv warm up.. let go brakes can feel its still in the first gear cos got more pull. after warm up ok liao

i always let my engine run for 2-3 mins when i start my car up in the morning....im not sure....is 2-3mins enuff? its a auto car.

 

or isit just engine warm up but gearbox can only warm up when u start moving ur car??

Adrian, u got the ez-stab in ur vehical boh, i went over to nissan forum to do a search, like all e cars in the forum have install

 

latio got, nissan got, pairre got, march got, van got, those with 2 stabs also got, one on alternator, one at batt.
