Paint work touching up...

Dear all...

 

was parking at the multi storey car park where didnt realise the bumper was kissing the pillar......

 

n bang... !..scratched the bumper n paint work was off..

 

ANy one with recommendations of cheap but good touching up of paint? it's about length of a ruler..but with small lines....

new car? can ask the dealer to touch up for you during servicing. not too bad since it's not the metal portion

dun think they wil do it for me...cos their servicing only simple job...sure charge!

Yes chevro...serious? Thought they will charge for this kinda touching up..cos nothing comes free...even their oil also must charge!..

yes. slight touch up they are ok.

Tat will be good..if not..then i will need to find out where to do touch up..or maybe stick one stupid sticker across my bumper then....

Yup they will do the touch up 4 u. In 04 my rear bumper was scraped until the paint came off & exposed the original black color bumper underneath, the guys @ SA did the touch up free as dad requested when he sent in the car for svc-ing so no worries

Does free touch up only applies to chevrolet or other makes as well?

Yes I did my touched up! when down yesterday....n they did it on the spot...! was nt really professionally done up..but it's free..wat do u expect?

Only way to forget your mistake forever is to get the bumper re-sprayed ! No touch up job would be good enough to get ride of the marks ! Let's face it ! Pay about $150 to $200 for the respray ! That is about the market rate for the job. Anything more, you would be a sucker !

It's an expensive lesson to pay for a small scratch...

 

But i agreed that re-spraying is the best solution. My Optra is about 1 yr and the numerous 'door knock' paint peel-offs is numerous! Thanks to those @#$% drivers who always love to open their car doors with all their 'milk-powdered' strenght. Especially those lorry, van, pick-up... whatever... drivers!

 

Intends to re-spray the whole car every 3yrs so that when it looks brand new...can last another 3yrs before backside itchy to change car.

Being the kiasu old fashion type, I had a protective stripe pasted on the side of the vehicle. Because it is black, it sort of matches with the paintwork and not look so bad. The stripe seem to be doing it's job by preventing dents from other cars. It is the lorry and MPV that I am more concerned with. I will never part beside one. Only problem is when I return to the parked car, sometimes I would find a lorry or MPV/SUV parked beside me !

respray?

wat does tt mean? coz my aveo got scratched too... n looking to do something to it. it's at the front.... anyone here has any recommendations?? where can i go to get it done?
