the purpose of tracking is to know your own car and its limits better...

not competitive racing, as tracking has been put up to be

the only special equipment u need is a helmet, and yah u just pay and start driving

don't have to drive fast, own time own target thing... better if u organise trips together with the same kind of cars, so can help each other out.

stock car also can join [thumbsup]

it's the skills that are important

OK good, ya was sort of worried that will kenna bullied and get into competitive races with others and people ruthlessly overtaking and cutting lanes etc. like in F1.

Dont want my car to explode too.

Have to use your own car because you want to be familiar with your car during higher speeds. It's always good to realise characteristics of your car you never knew before. You can actually call this guy Shafii (I need to go search for his number. Will post again), he's the marketer for this Workshop. He can get it for $398 for people on forums. All you need is a helmet, covered (hopefully thin-soled) shoes and a bit of guts.

bro,

$398 is for the basic course plus car around the track ? Its like the BMW ADC or more like an intro to track racing ? Assume they dont provide the car ?

Very keen to go, excited but also worried, later car writeoff got problem, sure bankrupt.

Anyone organising anything soon ?

Well it's a different ball park compared to the BMW's ADC. You spend most of your time on the skid pad in BMW's ADC and you learn defensive driving with safer speeds. It's a fantastic course for people who want to improve their knowledge of road safety and car control. Well if you're looking for something more in the field of motorsports, then the Mishire workshop should be your cup of tea. It more focused on introducing motorsports to people in a safer way. Too many are racing on the streets... so the course actually aims to bring motorsports back to the track. Oh and yes, you do have to use your own car. Get to know your car. If you're afraid of "injuring" your car, you can always choose to drive it comfortably. You wont get a medal if you come in first, so it really is ok not drive to the limit. However, you'll get track time included with the $398... good time to try what you've learnt on the track!

OK bro thanks.

Ya the ADC sort of turned me off with the price, and also the fact that we using one particular make of car with FR character.

Thanks all bros for your advice, looks like its not such a hostile environment after all.

Other than what the bros posted here...

Try to bring or borrow one tire gauge so that u can let out so tyre pressure after your first run...

On the Track

U might wanna do a warm down lap to cool down ur machinery...

oops, please remember NOT to engage ur handbrake after returning to the pit.....let the brake disc cool down first...

all u need is a helmet and covered shoes.. just drive normally.. faster cars will overtake you with their own means.. [thumbsup]

tracking once in a while will not hurt your engine that much.. always let it cool down after a few laps.. remember to keep your engine running when cooling down..

Can ask how come must keep engine running, me not turbo car leh.

after running laps round the track, do u just sit down and let ur body cool down or keep standing and walk around so that your heart doesn't just come to an abrupt slow pace?

same thing goes for the "heart" of your car, its engine.

Maybe can organise a trackday for all the first timers / new trackies. Ideally is to get some regular trackies to show us the braking points and lines around the course.

I suppose anyone or any car can go out to the track, because you pay the same amount of money as any others do. I've seen vans on the PG before, and even scooters for the motorcycles slots. So I really think it's alright for any cars to make a visit. Just wear sports shoes and bring a helmet will do.
