Honda Edix review

More pics!

Ok, here's how it looked at collection. Notice the 15" wheels. Very difficult to get good tyres for the 195/65 R15 size.

So I changed to 16"s. Fills the body much better, don't you think?

Here's a look at the dash. The front seats line up when the middle is pushed all the way forward and the sides are all the way back. So most of the time the middle is some way back. But in all positions legroom is never a problem.

The instrument panel during ignition. It is blacked out when the car's not in use.

A close-up of the front seat squab folded out. Good place to hide things, I've been told... rolleyes.gif

The front row, with stowaway.

The back row, all lined up. Each seat can recline a little too.

Here's a configuration with both middle seats folded. This way you carry surfboards or Ikea bookshelves. Just don't brake too hard, that jack in the boot might slam all the way into the windscreen sweatdrop.gif

HI Seansene,

Stumbled upon your well writtem article on the Edix! Enjoyed it!!! [thumbsup]

Looking at your latest pics, can you let me know is that the FURTHEST BACK the back row of seats can go. Judging from your pic, seems like the legroom for the second row is not that spacious. I might be wrong, but all my family members are at least 1.75m tall (I have no kids YET!) thus legroom & comfortable sitting / seating position is VERY important to me / my family.

Can you enlighten me / us??? [:/]

Does the EDIX also comes with an in-built TRIP METER / COMPUTER???

HAPPY & SAFE DRIVING . . .

Well I'm about 1.75m myself, and the legroom is not a problem in any of the seats. It was probably the pic of the back row that gave you the impression, with the front middle seat moved slightly back and the rear in its most forward position. That wasn't too accurate, as the front can actually slide right back to touch the cushion of the back. I would just move the rear middle to solve the problem.

By the way, the outer rear seats don't slide at all, so their legroom comes fron moving the front seats. But unless you have 2m tall family members, I don't expect them to feel squashed. Trust me, just this morning I was jumping in and out of every seat to see if I could get a comfortable position for six people my size [hur]

Actually, if anything the shoulders of the middle passengers might feel snug, but again, nothing uncomfortable. Why don't you take a trip to any of the showrooms to have a look yourself?

Oh, speaking of trips, yes, there is an onboard computer. Besides the odo, it has two trip meters, remaining range readout and outside tempearture gauge that's linked to the climate control. No instantaenous FC though.

Hi,

I am waiting for my Edix to arrive Singapore. I book it first week of March and I took Dark Blue. As it is a new color, the car may only arrive in end April [shakehead]

After COE and etc.... Maybe new car in June. [sleeping] I can't wait to snap photos of the car.

All I can say from my experience is: patience, patience. Get from your SE a clear sequence of events that has to occur, and check up on the next one. This way, you don't lose sleep over things out of your control or too far off in the sequence. Thanks to Hitman I got mine in four weeks flat [thumbsup]

Last Aqua Metallic Edix somemore [sweatdrop]

Neutral Newbie

It is always gd to read a review by the owner as it is not biased. What I find missing is no mention of Rd, engine and wind noise and more details on its performance on the road. Perhaps I see a part 2. [lipsrsealed]

Can u share with us your experience with yr PI as most bro here are wary of buying from PI after reading their various "selling & delaying" tactics. Cheers...

Well that would be in the Director's Cut version, out in two month's time [:p]

Overall, noise insulation is pretty decent, it's quiet on a cruise, with road noise being the dominant factor due to the upsized rubber. The engine note itself is pretty uncharismatic, sounding more like a vacuum cleaner than anything else.

With regards to performance, bear in mind that I've been driving like a pensioner during this run-in period, so there's nothing I can report. Don't worry, after the first servicing, the rev needle will se plenty of action [;)]

I got my car through Hitman, you can find his prices in the Merchants folder. Very upfront with everything, so no complaints. Be sure you know what you want first, because the lack of communicated requirements can be a great source of pain for all...

"driving like a pensioner during this run-in period" you said? laugh.giflaugh.gif

I could not even catch up with you earlier this week.... you were zipping in and out of traffic. If that was driving like a pensioner.... what is driving as per normal? sweatdrop.giflaugh.gif

Hey... does the car have the flat rear board as well? Since it's the same platform as the Civic [confused]

Can't see from the pics [:p]

Nice ride and nice review. [:)]

Nice babe in nice pictures of a spanking new car. As I was saying, car pics just won't do without a nice girl in it. [;)]
