Virus 2nd Gear May 29, 2006 Share May 29, 2006 [reply] It seems the 1.6 version (2006 Altis) don't feature Opitron gauges? Is it true? Only 1.8 come with it. ↡ Advertisement
Andyhunt Neutral Newbie May 30, 2006 Share May 30, 2006 Optirons gauges are like the current 2005/6 Toyota Camry (thai). The dashboard gauges will light up automatically no matter it's day or night. It's bright white. When engine off, the color will just fade off and you dont see anything on the gauge display.

Bentwy Neutral Newbie May 30, 2006 Share May 30, 2006 and BM will charge 5K more for these little changes. yay. sorry I drive an altis. no complains about the car but don't fancy BM.
Bentwy Neutral Newbie May 30, 2006 Share May 30, 2006 is that why some camry drivers forget to switch on their headlights at night?
Mkvgti Neutral Newbie May 30, 2006 Share May 30, 2006 Not only Camry drivers forget to switch on their headlights. Most drivers driving with these features will tend to forget too. I'm not sure about whether there is auto headlight switch available for the Altis or Camry, but my previous Euro R (CL7)and other makes like Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW and Lexus have such a feature. That way you will not have to worry about driving without headlights on and looking like an idiot on dim roads.

Biccat Neutral Newbie June 14, 2006 Share June 14, 2006 In my opinion, all these 'Made in Thailand' models really look 'Ah Pek' and ugly. I rate the Altis and City right at the bottom in terms of looks.
Atlantis_boi Clutched June 14, 2006 Share June 14, 2006 Juz to clarify. For the 1.8L Altis, the RPM cluster is 270 degree swing while the 1.6L Altis is a semi circle 180 egree swing right?

I rate the Altis and City right at the bottom in terms of looks. Altis is ok la. Well, at least the current looks attracts the correct crowd & makes it a top seller in SG. IMO, There r more uglier cars around.

Carstyle Neutral Newbie June 14, 2006 Share June 14, 2006 Altis is ok, not ugly, but nothing exciting. City is refreshing. Latio is the ugliest by far.
Biccat Neutral Newbie June 14, 2006 Share June 14, 2006 To be honest, the excellent sales of the Altis has a lot to do with loyalty, reputation, reliability and of course clever pricing strategy. I don't think looks play a big part. ↡ Advertisement
