It seems the 1.6 version (2006 Altis) don't feature Opitron gauges? Is it true?

Only 1.8 come with it. nod.gif

Optirons gauges are like the current 2005/6 Toyota Camry (thai). The dashboard gauges will light up automatically no matter it's day or night. It's bright white. When engine off, the color will just fade off and you dont see anything on the gauge display.

Not only Camry drivers forget to switch on their headlights. Most drivers driving with these features will tend to forget too. I'm not sure about whether there is auto headlight switch available for the Altis or Camry, but my previous Euro R (CL7)and other makes like Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW and Lexus have such a feature. That way you will not have to worry about driving without headlights on and looking like an idiot on dim roads.

In my opinion, all these 'Made in Thailand' models really look 'Ah Pek' and ugly. I rate the Altis and City right at the bottom in terms of looks.

Altis is ok la. Well, at least the current looks attracts the correct crowd & makes it a top seller in SG. IMO, There r more uglier cars around.

yepp not much of a change. actually i prefer the older version. the new grille looks kinda ugly. tho some may say its more executive ;)

Wat grill it comes with doesnt matter. Change always change to a sports grill [sly]

To be honest, the excellent sales of the Altis has a lot to do with loyalty, reputation, reliability and of course clever pricing strategy. I don't think looks play a big part.
