Alveron2001 Neutral Newbie May 8, 2006 Share May 8, 2006 Haha... It seems that SKODA used to make tanks during WW2 ! But as Romania was under Germany, Skoda tanks were made for the Germans. Some of the Tanks I found. - Skoda 35T - Skoda 38T - Skoda R-2 Tank killer Short Read on the Skoda R-2 http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/2003...eborn_tacam.htm Someone selling Skoda 35T model kit on e-bay... http://www.ebay.com.sg/viItem?ItemId=6056463753 Haha... Find this really amusing.... Now Koobala & Germar can add this tip to the "Why Buy Skoda" list..... If I remember correctly, BMW used to make Motor Bikes & Aircraft Engines for Messerschmitt Planes during WW2 as well. In fact, the BMW logo (circle in 4 sections) is actually an image of a Propeller in Motion. And Mitsubishi made Japanese ZERO planes during WW2. ↡ Advertisement
Conned Clutched May 8, 2006 Share May 8, 2006 INteresting! They would make a really nice conversation piece on de display! esp forskoda owners! Another interestng fact is that while Mitsubushi manufactured de Zero Fighters ( A6M), it was Nakajima Corp who designed n also manufactured more of de 14Cylinders 1000plus HP aluminium Zeros, Jap bombers ! The zeros that attacked Pearl Harbour were specially designed for the long range sortie,to save weight, and FC, they had NO ARMOUR,NO Fire extinguisers ,(but they had self-healing fuel tanks),no heater, had retractable landing gears for more fuel effecient aerodynamics,no fat pilots..their only upper hand were elements of surprise, speed n very tight turning radius! The interesting part is this..Nakajima Corp is known as " SUBARU" today. under Fuji Heavy industries!! And Skoda was part of de Porsche,VW design team during de warring years.under 3rd Reich..as one can see how Porsche 911 evolved from beetle design( which was known as de Porsche Type 60/VW38) which is RR to Rapid. That's why de parts even till today are interchangeable.! Be proud u are owning a machine with 100yrs of rich engineering heritage!! jus my 0.02cts! Koolaba 1st Gear May 8, 2006 Share May 8, 2006 I have never doubted that Skoda cars are built with tank-like qualities. Thanks for this interesting article.
Tashi Clutched May 8, 2006 Share May 8, 2006 hi bro Skoda today, is also into city transportation (trains and buses), nuclear power stations, etc. This is the other "half" which is retained in Czech Republic, different from the automotive part sold to VW. Earlier, Skoda was into aircraft as well. :-) Check out the scale modle of Skoda D.1 aircraft, which I believe was used in the 1930s? It was also used as police aircraft. http://www.preisvergleich.org/preisverglei..._203_11834.html Skoda also used to operate an airline, Skoda Air, with the same logo, but in blue. http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...inct_entry=true Interesting company, long history as bro Koolaba mentioned. bless tashi
Alveron2001 Neutral Newbie May 9, 2006 Author Share May 9, 2006 Haha... I'm seriously thinking of getting the model kit on ebay... Fix it up and put it on my dashboard. Then when people ask: "Why you got a toy tank in your car ???" I'll say: "Why,... that's a SKODA...." But need to paint those model kits.. And my painting sucks... Maybe sent the model kit to Yew Lip and ask Angie to do Spray Painting..... "Buy SKODA... It's a Tank in Disguise..." "Buy SKODA... We'll CRUSH the enemies..." "Buy SKODA... BlitzKrieg !!!" "Buy SKODA... For the Armour..."

Tashi Clutched May 9, 2006 Share May 9, 2006 yo bro that's a good one, should have asked you when I shot my indie scifi film "peaceful knights". In the short film there was a space chase sequence, which subsequently went digital (since my painting skills sucked too). :-) bless
