Ldawn88 2nd Gear May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 Would greatly appreciate comments from anyone whose test driven both cars. In terms of handling, performance 0-100, 100-200 as well as 1/4mile, braking, if so what brakes has it got. Comfort ? Electronics ? Etc. Cheers PS: Not looking at one of those feedbacks, "this one is too common over the other so I'll choose the latter" thanks 2 very different cars. sedan vs coupe. the 0-100 thingy aside. the feeling is very different when you drive ard in a 350z vs driving a very common sedan ard. ↡ Advertisement

BMW320i Neutral Newbie May 14, 2006 Author Share May 14, 2006 Saw another Targa Spec GTR 34 going at $160k I think in excess of 500hp at the wheels by the looks of the mods.

Elfenstar 3rd Gear May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 How come you're selling the WRX??? Between the 2, if you're looking at start stop accleration, you cant go past the EVO, but if you're looking at long-distance crusing its def the 350. Also if you're gonna be modding again, you know the TC/NA argument. its a lot cheaper to get more power out of the Evo. Btw, i get pretty claustrophobic at the rear of the 350. Elfenstar 3rd Gear May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 (edited) yes there are bolt on turbo kits for the 350. I believe MRT has one. I do know of a fairly standard looking 350 with a supercharger kit, project u brakes and a few other goodies. That car is good and one of the few 350's that gets off the line really quick. sounds bloody mean too!!! Edit btw, I like both cars (esp the look of the 350) but at the end i would get the evo simply coz of the balls shrinking handling that it has (esp with a good suspension setup). BMW320i Neutral Newbie May 14, 2006 Author Share May 14, 2006 I haven't tried the skyline. Evo and STi... hmmm too much to tell. I'll do that tonight.

BMW320i Neutral Newbie May 14, 2006 Author Share May 14, 2006 Yeah I have doubts about extracting power off the 350 without touching the internals. Why am I selling ? It all started with S15 than the seller doesn't seem to be interested in selling and than someone told me something about the Evo 9 than I went and search more info than it led to a test drive than it led to an offer than now I'm waiting for the dealer to call me. BMW320i Neutral Newbie May 14, 2006 Author Share May 14, 2006 I would imagine alot has to be spent on the turbo kit. Turbo, IC pipings, exhaust manifold, injectors, fuel pump and heaps more. I'm thinking of skipping coilover mods and go for the performance package with the bilstein suspension and BBS rims. I'm afraid the bilstein will be too soft for street and track so maybe the standard sounds better. Only enkei rims ... BBS are 4.4kg lighter.
Elfenstar 3rd Gear May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 (edited) you're going to miss your baby you know... i miss mine heaps... *LaFfs* seller not interested in selling sounds like me... but sold her still anyway Anyway either car you're still spoilt for aftermarket parts. HEaps of jap bits for the evo and mostly yank stuff for the 350. you can't go wrong either way, but if you intend to spend heaps on the car, the 350 can be individualised more while the evo can be modded safely for heaps more power easily. Considering what i think your driving style is like, i would say the evo suits you more. but if you're willing to spend on the handling dept the 350 will be up to scratch. Edit: btw i dunno abt perth but here in melb the 350 is fairly common as compared to the evo 9. Edited May 14, 2006 by Elfenstar
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 If you want looks and performance, it'll be good to wait for GTR and EvoX next year.
Turbonetics 2nd Gear May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 i believe that the Evo is faster in 0-1ookm/hr... but for 1/4 mile,my take is still on the evo.... Fairlady looks more cool with its coupe body.... but if put turbo in the Fairlady.... sure eat Evo.... had seen one with turbo...omg...damn fast....really... ↡ Advertisement
