Laser_yc Neutral Newbie March 9, 2003 Share March 9, 2003 Hi All, Recently, I've jus changed my tyres on my wheels to my friend's P-Zeros and I am hearing sounds like "ta ta ta" as the car moves. Anyone knows the reason or experienced anything like this b4? Anyway his P-Zeros are in good condition and he rotates his tyres every 10K, the tyre threads looks fine too. The guys at South East says to let the tyres run in for my car but I feel that it may not be a tyre prob. Anyone pls help? Also wheel balancing has been done on all 4 tyres, static ones. ↡ Advertisement
E36UDM Neutral Newbie March 9, 2003 Share March 9, 2003 Is it loud? Comes from the front or back? 'ta ta ta' sound fast or gradual? or increasing as you drive faster?

Laser_yc Neutral Newbie March 10, 2003 Author Share March 10, 2003 It seems to be coming from the front and it is gradual, it gets faster and faster as the car goes faster

RadX Moderator March 10, 2003 Share March 10, 2003 Sounds like a bald spot to me.....try this, go to MCSP and go slow, and see if the ra-ta-ta is gradual and timed....and if fast, whether there is any noise.... just my 0.
E36UDM Neutral Newbie March 10, 2003 Share March 10, 2003 It could be thumbtacks or metal piece lodged on your tyres which I have both experienced (suay). Maybe you can check whether your tyres are slightly deflated, if so then drive to a tyre shop and have it patched.
Laser_yc Neutral Newbie March 10, 2003 Author Share March 10, 2003 Yes it is gradual and timed, and when fast it is still there and timed as well.

RadX Moderator March 10, 2003 Share March 10, 2003 wat car did he drive b4?? If he had no ABS on his car, perhaps, the possibility of a bald-spot is high due to a skid or sth, when wheel lock, which meant a helluva lot-o- rubber burnt, creating a bald spot!
