Garlic 1st Gear August 6, 2006 Share August 6, 2006 (edited) Hi guys, Read that an open pod setup is discouraged for an auto tranny as it causes low end torque to drop. Does the same apply to close-pod CAI intake? Will there be an increase in sound level as well? Thinking of replacing the airbox and intake with a closed-pod CAI setup. Thanks Edited August 6, 2006 by Garlic ↡ Advertisement
Furrynadz 5th Gear August 8, 2006 Share August 8, 2006 if fit those like bmc/simota closed pod should not affect low end too much more responsive across the entire range especially mid and high sound definitely louder
Ff2004 Neutral Newbie August 8, 2006 Share August 8, 2006 Low end torque not significantly affected. Sound is not very loud but only slightly louder than stock.
Dfx16 6th Gear August 10, 2006 Share August 10, 2006 Quite subjective, Initially i did experience some lost in low end But it's not that great But the gain from mid to high (Shiok!) Anyway the minor lost can be gained back by doing some other mods

Garlic 1st Gear August 11, 2006 Author Share August 11, 2006 What material is Simonta's filter element made of? It seems like cotton sandwiched between a wire gauge. Does it need oiling?

Accordvtec 1st Gear August 12, 2006 Share August 12, 2006 well, you can remove the resonator from your stock air box, connect a piping to some area to draw cold air into your air box and last, put in a drop-in filter.KNN is a good choice. If you need someone to do the above for you,I can recommend my workshop to you.
