Does closed-pod CAI intake kit affect low end torque?

Hi guys,

Read that an open pod setup is discouraged for an auto tranny as it causes low end torque to drop.

Does the same apply to close-pod CAI intake? Will there be an increase in sound level as well?

Thinking of replacing the airbox and intake with a closed-pod CAI setup.

Thanks [:)]

if fit those like bmc/simota closed pod

should not affect low end too much

more responsive across the entire range especially mid and high

sound definitely louder

Quite subjective,

Initially i did experience some lost in low end

But it's not that great

But the gain from mid to high (Shiok!)

Anyway the minor lost can be gained back by doing some other mods

What material is Simonta's filter element made of? It seems like cotton sandwiched between a wire gauge.

Does it need oiling?

well, you can remove the resonator from your stock air box, connect a piping to some area to draw cold air into your air box and last, put in a drop-in filter.KNN is a good choice.

If you need someone to do the above for you,I can recommend my workshop to you.

Was quoted $260 for the following inclusive of labour charges, is it reasonable?

1) Replacing stock airbox with Simonta carbon charger

2) CAI installation

3) Mini breather

Thanks [:)]
