Rickster 5th Gear August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 but cannot be suaku mah....I mean they must have seen those fireworks many many times already rite? Every year also have one what.....so why it is that people are still so crazy about it that they can jam, fight, rush, pack just for it? Well I was stuck in the horrific jam for a whole 40 minutes juz becos i wanna go suntec for a meal.. in the end go Orchard when i saw the crowd @ suntec. Actually i believe its not that the fireworks is facinating or anything. Its the experience of going to "soak in the atmosphere" and taking it as a fun meeting with frens to "see and be seen" kind of things that attracts people. If u realise, the crowd is generally quite young. ↡ Advertisement

Turbonetics 2nd Gear August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Guys, I don't understand this. what is it that is so fascinating about fireworks? Is it Sporeans are so deprived of entertainment that they are willing to stuck in jams, stuck in public transport, walk miles and miles, just for that 5-15 minutes of fireworks? I really don't get it. What is so interesting about some spluttering lights in the air? fireworks are nice to see for me... so what is so great about the car u drive??? Sillyme Neutral Newbie August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 We appreciate and enjoy different things. You're probably just irked by the inconvenience the event has brought.

Turbonetics 2nd Gear August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 what iam trying to say is to say is to each his own...
Sillyme Neutral Newbie August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 How do you place worth? Like Turbonetics said, "to each his own". You may think it's not worth the trouble, but those who enjoyed it thinks it is. Similarly, you probably had sacrificed for things you appreciate that others don't. David Clutched August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Son, take your time to understand the simple enjoyment of fireworks. You still have plenty of time.
David Clutched August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 the organisers will say it is Nation's Birthday ma. plus they will say these problems are due to pple, not the event. But i have to say the self-centredness of these pple are really out of control. Stop the car on the highway to watch fireworks? So the problem is the drivers and their car, not the firewroks. Acemundo Supercharged August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 yup, i don't usually link 2 things together. if there are responsible drivers who wanna enjoy fireworks, by all means. not when they slow down or stop at major roads to watch fireworks at expense of other drivers
Turbonetics 2nd Gear August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 last sat,i was watching at the bridge between fullerton and esplanade... then the 2 left lanes vehicles stopped by and some drivers and passengers actually came out from their cars to watch... Irene Neutral Newbie August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 If you accompany your loved ones watching the fireworks, it will mean something that money cant buy. Its either romantic for the gals or it just melt them. Children will get so excited and seeing their smiles melt my heart. But for those who are alone... it just mean nothing. Ronnie Neutral Newbie August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 what sort of rubbish are you spewing? dont forget, all of you are watching the fireworks alone with your own eyes. the kids are there to make the noise which to my delight, being drowned out by the fireworks. being alone can enjoy the fireworks better, can make new friends... like i did in the recent moomba festival in aust. u have a long way to go baby. Boyboy 1st Gear August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Fireworks make an interesting subject for photography. i didn't go this year, but with the kind of jam, i'd rather wait for new year's eve fireworks i took fireworks pix during national day two years ago, didn't drive then so public transport was my only option. i think more people watched this year! ↡ Advertisement
