Karebu 1st Gear August 18, 2007 Share August 18, 2007 perhaps it's not off. just that you were kinda far. sounds travel slow. 344m/s. length of a stadium away and it will be off by a second.
David Clutched August 18, 2007 Share August 18, 2007 Here's another thing I do not understand - knowing that there's gonna be a crowd, why must ppl still use BSB and be in the vicinity of the Esplanade driving?
Nolicense Turbocharged August 18, 2007 Share August 18, 2007 Guys, I don't understand this. what is it that is so fascinating about fireworks? Is it Sporeans are so deprived of entertainment that they are willing to stuck in jams, stuck in public transport, walk miles and miles, just for that 5-15 minutes of fireworks? I really don't get it. What is so interesting about some spluttering lights in the air? all i can say: suaku just like it's so amazing to see people rush/Q/push around just to see a enclosed firecracker in action during chinese new year (what to do, many people has never seen before since it's being banned for so many years...) just like many people will buy a chewing gum the minute they step onto a foreign country and see the way they chew the gum with those mouth movement... so hard, so fast and so cute.... aiyah, sinkaporeans are a repressed lot. in the red dot cannot do anything, once out of it, anything also can do. maybe gays travel out of the red dot very often.. Davidklt Supercharged August 18, 2007 Share August 18, 2007 I was stuck for an hour too just now at Raffles Place area. Still tot I can do a quick getaway.. damn last tuesday night i was jammed for close to an hour on nicoll highway just before suntec area. heard the jam on ecp was bad as well. the reason i heard - pple stopping or slowing down their car by nicoll highway/ecp to watch the firework. when will these Singaporeans learn 1)THere's an appropriate place for everything, including watching fireworks. Stop doing whatever thing they like at inappropriate places like the roads and highways that affects other road users 2) To be consideration and stop being self-centred. Their indiscriminate but inappropriate choice of carrying out an activity is causing inconvenience and loss to other road users.

Curahee 1st Gear August 18, 2007 Share August 18, 2007 I've seen shots from a prosumer cam that will shame a pro thanks to the composition. Frankly few will go to F stops and aperture and let the electronics take control or rather take advantage of how the electronics take control by forcing it to do certain things w/o actually manipulating F stops and aperture and.... I know about photography but can't be bothered with the setup of the equipment. I want to take the picture fast. Explains why before the digital invasion I used a rangefinder as compared to a SLR. I don't like big and I don't like slow. The only time I take pictures seriously slow with a proper setup is flourescing cells under a microscope excited by a laser. As for real life, I cannot be bothered. For regular daily photography which I must say is mostly encountered, I will choose a prosumer. Its cheaper, it fires up fast compared to DSLR and if you know how to manipulate it w/o going to the F-stops and aperture and......it will take pretty good pictures. My cousin juz buy a few thousands value DSLR nikon, she take some pics and after tat print the pic for my family to see during family reunion dinner, all say very nice as the comment is pic are from a very expensive camera. Curious, i go and check it out, it look like normal compact point and shoot pictures. Why is it so??

Sony 1st Gear August 18, 2007 Share August 18, 2007 Nah.. sux would be a very provocative word. I wouldn't want to lead him on But then, sat's firework is better than friday. but I would say that last year, the S'pore team's concept was good. The firework orgin from the seabed and light all the way towards the new IR. It's different from the usual shot up the sky type. ↡ Advertisement
