Still wondering how will be the FC of Avante cos even the new Verna, FC is also bad so I doubt Avante is good too? And really puzzled why Kia uses same engine as Hyundai but yet the FC is so much better than Hyundai?

The new Avante has a rather high OMV.. things are changing..

Please go ahead then. High OMV does not mean high resale/export value. Export value is highly dep on oversea demand. I have summarized the info that my colleagues and I gathered two months ago. (for 2 yrs old car)

model car body

vios (M/A) ~10k

altis ~7.5k

Civic 8k

Lancer 5-6k

Getz 1-2k

Optra 2k

Of cos, the value may change dep on oversea demand.

bro, do you noe the value for protege? tks [:p]

To be fair since Kia Cerato uses same engine with Hyundai Elantra, by comparing both FC, Kia FC is much better than Hyundai. Anyone ever compare the new Kia Rio with the Hyundai Verna?

Not forgetting Verna engine is the same as Kia Rio.

my friend who is now driving a 02' Elantra, is getting 11km/l.... not tat bad mah....

Comparing both Auto.... i think on par....

If comparing rides ard the same mfg window (Accent vs old rio, Verna vs New Rio).... generally Hyundai will have higher OMVs compared to Kia.....

But for local market, Komoco seems to have earn a lot from owners as their car pricing is always on the high side compared to Kia but what owners get back is lesser than Kia.

For me, I dun like Hyundai styling and it seems they have cut cost on a lot of items when you compared the same class of vehicle between Hyundai and Kia since both are using same parts.

abt the earning part... i no comment rah.... based on the OMV & selling price...in fact both Kia & Komoco earning a lot more than other agent..... maybe Kia dun need to earn so much, becos they under C&C umbrella [;)]

u need to get the fact rite & compare accordingly.... for those parallel comparison Ive mention (Accent vs Rio) etc....both are also cut down models.... no airbag....no abs etc etc.... so I cant understand where u coming from leh....

IMHO.... both Verna vs Rio, Tucson vs Sportage are good for value @ the point of purchase.... forget abt simi resale value talks rah.... when changing cars.... OMVs & body value are all tat matters

else... if u are comfortable with Kia.... just go ahead...its still a tin can on 4 rubber mah....

btw, wat car u driving?

perhaps the reason Y kia is cheaper compare to hyundai is that hyundai is more establish, hyundai rank no.4 for Jan- Aug '06 and i think kia is rank somewhere near to no.10, in order to capture more market share, kia has to eat the humble pie first.... [crazy]

From what I read in Hyundai forum, most Verna having problem with their air-con and air-con is fitted locally by local agent so the question is Komoco trying to save money on all the locally fitted items?

Take note also that Hyundai pricing is always on the high side compared to Kia comparing the price for Verna and Rio. Verna parts are based on Rio as Rio is launched earlier than Verna.

My friend's Getz which is only 7 months old, his head unit is not even MP3 capable while all Kia models like Picanto and Rio are using the same head unit which are MP3 capable.
