Civic2000 Supercharged September 11, 2006 Share September 11, 2006 To a certain extent, you are right. The FC of the car goes with how it is driven and by whom? Like my ALTIS (sold today) was driven by my son, who is 23. It make me laugh when he complaint that ALTIS drinks petrol. I told him that why he did not get to drive my CIVIC Si. Walterkoh Neutral Newbie September 12, 2006 Share September 12, 2006 (edited) hi all, avante 1.6: $56,999 (GCOE) avante 1.6 SR: $58,699 (GCOE) omv estimate: $15,200 y u dun see any avante on the road? its a new model tat jus arrived in SG. next week u will see the first batch of cars on the road as for FC, all being biased that korean cars are higher! yes i agreed that matrix is high, but u must compare apple to apple. take a jap car with tat size to compare the FC, then see which is higher. avante with the latest tech, at 121ps, has the power to weight advantage. high power dun mean necessarily must have fast 0-100km/h. its the overall performance, comfort, over-taking with ease, cruising, noise level, FC, space, ABILITY TO STOP EFFECTIVELY DURING AN EMERGENCY etc that make a car good. how much can altis go? wats the FC? people here keep saying altis good, but how come no figures? of cos, jus by paying a little bit of attention, one has no difficulty in understanding y they keep saying altis has lower FC, cos they hog the roads like petrol costs $10 per litre. i hv heard many of my friends n camp mates complaining that they are only getting 10km/l, nowhere near wat was claimed by their SE near 13km/l. so is this FC good? dun think so!!! cheers Edited September 12, 2006 by Walterkoh

Sunray Neutral Newbie September 12, 2006 Share September 12, 2006 Opening minds (on new model) are one thing, but actual buying it is another thing. I remember earlier comments on verna were also quite good but how many are there on the roads?
Carlover76 Neutral Newbie September 12, 2006 Share September 12, 2006 get a Avante lah. don't follow the crowd. 100k SGeans many be wrong. don't let our tourists think that SG is the same country as Thailand, a traffic full of altises/vios/wish!! SG still wants alot investment including Walt Disney!! Sorry to say that a expensive car like Altis, the fitting and interior quality is still not as good or even on par with any Korean car out there under the same 1.6 class and yet, you are paying more for it and most of it goes to the brand : Toyota. Anyway, it is not something to shout about really. BTW, I do not drive like a turtle and mostly city driving. Well, want good FC, go for 1l or hybrid. Y2018 Neutral Newbie September 13, 2006 Share September 13, 2006 Please go ahead then. High OMV does not mean high resale/export value. Export value is highly dep on oversea demand. I have summarized the info that my colleagues and I gathered two months ago. (for 2 yrs old car) model car body vios (M/A) ~10k altis ~7.5k Civic 8k Lancer 5-6k Getz 1-2k Optra 2k Of cos, the value may change dep on oversea demand. If car older than 2 years(more 4 years), can still get the kind of body value as you mentioned above? ??

I visited Hyundai showroom last weekend to take a look at the Avante. The interior is nice and fitting is quite good. But since so many people like to compare it with Altis, I must say that in terms of the interior materials and feel of quality, it is still not as good as Altis or even Sunny.
