Actual, they don't just target SG cars. They target MY local cars too. My relative friend in MY got his 1 wk old Toyota Altis stolen right under his nose. He parked his car near his shop to check out the day sales n he return 15 mins later to find it gone.

Favourite brand

1. Toyota All models

2. Honda

3. Mitsibishi

4. Subaru

Less want

1. Proton

2. Nissan

< 1 out of 10 cases..?

Dunno whether 1 out of 10. But what I know personally, not hearsay, is both my friend and brother-in-law got back their cars. So 2 out of 2?

Haven't you read in papers that Sg cars are also stolen and exported to My by syn. So you sure you can get back your car if lost in Sg?

Car got stolen in SG should be able to find back unless you report it too slow and of course they had already pass our custom check point liao so chances of getting back is very low.

Car stolen in MY and still can get it back then you are very lucky liao. Maybe they had no enough time to export your car out lor.

In sg maybe those thief is more interest those nice looking and expensive 17 inch sport rim than your car. Anyway just your luck.

Even you report immediately, your car can still cross the causeway without your number plate. Yes, just your luck ..... in Sg as well.

My friend recently lost a Camry in JH. He parked his car near a small restaurant for lunch. After lunch, he found his car gone. How do you protect your car when you drive to Malaysia?

[dizzy]

highly brand/model sensitive in JH or Malaysia, Toyota (except Altis and Vios), Honda (except City), Conti all Brands, all MVPs & SUVs avoid to enter Malaysia, others such as sunny, altis, vios, lancer, Korean Sedans, Malayisa cars etc, just go ahead and singing song to enter easily [drivingcar], my friend drive to Malaysia frenquently, so he got 2 cars, Honda Stream and Hyundai Gets, clearly the duty, of course you must have enough pocket depth [laugh]

Agree! but slightly [shakehead] , Toyota Altis(SG version) is 1.6L, there is not much market in Malaysia [thumbsdown], and vios also is not so [shakehead]

If they are joy-riders or use it for crime...they will take any car. But if they steal cos they need money, they will have to steal cars which are in demand. I doubt the latter group will want to steal a Chery QQ which has low/no demand and easy to spot...cos it's very rare there. [:)][:)]

Since we are on this topic.

Can I check if anyone have tried this GSM Car alarms before => http://www.cispro.com.sg/gsm%20car%20alarm.htm

May I know if it is as good as it claims and is this company reliable? Am seriously considering using this not just because of the Anti-theft, anti hijacks and what nots but also because of the convenience it provides i.e. remote unlock/lock and also turn on engine.

I know nothing is foolproof but at least you are taking as much a precaution as possible IF and WHEN you decide to drive up north.
