Pisces69 6th Gear February 14, 2007 Share February 14, 2007 this is what I thought too...but in earlier separate threads..I read rear should pump more pressure I believe for rear driven vehicle, the rear tyre pressure is higher that front.... ======================= Last time with most cars as rear wheel drive, the TP for front & back was almost the same cos both had about equal amount of work when the car was moving. Front tyres were steering & supporting a heavier weight on the engine. rear tyres were propelling the car & wud also take about the same amount of stress & load. Now with front wheel drive, the front tyres r doing the steering, propelling & carrying the heavier weight of the engine. The rear tyres r just holding up the car & takes some strain when it applies the brakes.
