Correct Tire pressure...

Hi just want to check with everyone for 225/35/18 and 225/40/18 what is the correct air to pump ?? the tire shop told me to pump 270 or 280 ........ to me like too much right ?? can anyone confirm what is the correct air to pump ??

this is what I thought too...but in earlier separate threads..I read rear should pump more pressure dizzy.gif

I believe for rear driven vehicle, the rear tyre pressure is higher that front....

Last time with most cars as rear wheel drive, the TP for front & back was almost the same cos both had about equal amount of work when the car was moving.

 

Front tyres were steering & supporting a heavier weight on the engine. rear tyres were propelling the car & wud also take about the same amount of stress & load.

 

Now with front wheel drive, the front tyres r doing the steering, propelling & carrying the heavier weight of the engine. The rear tyres r just holding up the car & takes some strain when it applies the brakes.

Hahaha. I tot u disappeared already. Yup still using the AT171. Got 2 more years to scrap. Might even extend again.
