I'm pretty new to ICE and hope old birds here can share advice on what I should do next...

I just fixed up a CDT component set... and currently listening is up one notch! [thumbsup]

Just want to ask:

1) If I don't want to install amplifier, will changing HU from my stock Toyota HU to Pioneer 6850 make a significant difference to listening experience?

2) Should amp or HU be next on the list?

3) Any best value for money amp to recommend?

Cheers and thanks in advance! [flowerface]

IMO ... any amp is better than no amp [:)] and any amp is not expensive, especially 2nd-hand.

But whether HU or amp change 1st, then I dunno liao [sweatdrop] cos subjective ... to me amp 1st then HU, but some say HU is the source. if source produces garbage, amp amplifies garbage to be BIGGER pile of garbage [:p]

Just my 0.0000002 cents

I changed speakers. Sound improved! [thumbsup]

then added amp. Needed a hi-lo converter. However, got aeroplane sound.....sort of whinny....very irriating. [:/] Sound improved another notch. But not as much as changing speakers.

Then I changed hu. The sound changed a lot. Sounds much clearer. No more whinny aeroplane sound. [nod] Mine is toyota stock head unit. Changed to pioneer 8650. [nod]
