Where to do car transfer?

Besides LTA itself at Sin Ming, where else can we do car ownership transfer? The LTA website says you can do it at all authorised electronic agents premises.....but what the heck is dat? Nothing on their website that tells you what these premises are located.

Anyone can advise?

Another thing, if i have 30% NCD on current car but there is a lapse period whereby i will own a new car before selling my old one, does that mean i have to pay full insurance without NCD for the new car first. Den when i sell my old car will i be able to claim from NTUC insurance the offset for the 30% NCD i possess?

The ncd thing u were asking is going to drop 10% every year, so long as ur lapse does not drag for more than a year from the time u stop ur previous insurance, ur ncd will not be affected, this applies even if u use different company. ncd is nt affected by company change

i recently juz check with ntuc last week and this is wat happened to my mom's 30%ncd frm 2002, every year drop dop drop until now 0%, but i think ntuc now got a additional 5% for loyalty and 5% for direct application w/o going thru agent.

Just did a transfer few weeks ago, and was in the same position as you. In the end did it at LTA in Sin Ming - actual transaction is now very quick as no new log card is issued. Apart from not being able to find any info on the electronic agents, seems like you have to apply for and obtain a transaction PIN which is sent to you by post if you do it anywhere other than LTA, so need to do this a few days beforehand. [dizzy] I may be wrong on this.

To avoid any hassle, I chose to do it at LTA in the end.

I see..... so go LTA only need the usual ICs and old log card lah.. And the Q is no longer so long in terms of waiting time lah. Ok, thanks.....will go down LTA to do this den.

Oh.... i sent an email to LTA and they actually called me to reply. Apparently, these electronic agents are actually selected dealers or distributors. Like perhaps Borneo motors can do the transfer in house or something like dat. Hmmm...impressed with their response man. [thumbsup]

do the agents charge for the service? if they do, forget it and just go to LTA. i have done transfer before, it's just a 2 min transcation. not worth paying even $1.

can read from one.motoring website for the procedures. Either both guys turn up or alternatively, one guy will pass the i/c to the other guy for the transfer.
