I tried looking for one, but it seem they have close it down.

Is the NA series MX5 sharing the same spare parts as the current NC series?

This is a NA model MX5 right?

Is the parts for the old MX5 hard to come by?

Thanks

Neutral Newbie

Miata Club has a forum, but its rather inactive. Check out www.miata-sg.com, and meet us on our monthly meets. We commnunicate thru mailing list.

The NA series is not quite hard to find, in fact a few nice ones were just transacted recently. Just be patient and wait for a good one to come by.

NA dun share parts with NC, but more with NB.

Old MX5 parts are not tt difficult as we have strong support from Fong Yat who stock up common wear and tear items, and they are helpful when ordering rare parts. Worldwide, this car has a strong cult status, thus spares and performance parts are easily available online.

Check out places like miata mania or flyin' miata.

Hi everyone, would any of you kindly point me towards an active MX-5 forum in Singapore? Thanks in advance.

After finally convincing my wife that the MX-5 is indeed a practical car for a family with 2 kids, I purchased my first MX-5 RF earlier this year. It has so far been a real joy to drive and feels like a keeper. Hoping there is a existing community of fellow MX-5ers.

Turbocharged

remove 50kg from an already lightweight car, without all the simi carbon fibre, titanium parts is impressive

just happen to be looking for a mid life crisis car and this thread popped up

must be manual, soft top and prefer JDM (unker olde skool la)

referring to the ND model

i realised the agent units are all 2.0L

but current JDM specs are all 1.5L and (100kw) 136bhp?

does anyone know if these existing PI units resale units are cat A or cat B?

I ask ChatGPT

“Key Weight-Saving Measures in the 990S

Removal of Sound Deadening
Mazda stripped out sound insulation from under the hood and behind the dashboard. This “gram strategy” helps shed weight—every kilogram counts.

Forged Rays Alloy Wheels
Each lightweight forged alloy rim from Rays saves around 800 g, totaling about 3.2 kg trimmed from unsprung mass.

Aluminum Brembo Brakes
Replacing standard steel brake rotors with larger aluminum Brembo calipers and rotors reduces approximately 700 g, even though the setup is larger.

Simplified Interior & No Infotainment
The car omits Mazda Connect, GPS, and the touchscreen. Instead, it features a more basic analogue infotainment setup, shaving off additional weight from tech and wiring.

Lighter Hood
In some descriptions, Mazda fitted a specially designed thinner bonnet to further reduce weight.”

For JDM, roadster = soft top = 1.5L.

RF = retractable roof = 2L

Turbocharged

Mazda drilled a hole in normal ND window glass to save 10g (maybe)

I thought that is quite extreme

now they can even save 50kg more from the normal ND

amazing! maybe they drill two more holes on the 990S 😁

but i not interested in the RF

the agent soft top NDs are all specced with 2.0 same as the RF eg: https://www.sgcarmart.com/used-cars/info/mazda-mx-5-20m-1415935?dl=3709

only looking for JDM soft top 1.5 eg: https://www.sgcarmart.com/used-cars/info/mazda-mx-5-roadster-15m-1425650?dl=2757&utm_content=SLeligible#popup-closed

wanted to check the PI 1.5 JDMs are cat a or b, if anyone happen to know
