Tyre rotation

After rotating my tyres, front to back, left and right, do I need to do any work like alignment etc ?

Wheel alignment , check and adjust was done, but the work shop forgot to rotate the tyres.

Can I go to any near by workshop to do the rotation ? Is it a straight forward, simple job ? Or do I need to do the alignment, check and adjustment etc after the rotation ?

Thanks [thumbsup]

a ultra simple layman explanation:

Alignment: make sure your front wheels (if FWD) is straight.

Balance: Balance the tyres when it's on the rim. small little weight will be added to ensure its balance.

Rotation: The front pair of wheels usually get wear off faster than the rear, so to ensure that you can change all 4 tyres at the same time, you rotate the front with the back.

ya, I wld like to, but they are just too far from where I'm staying.

Called to inform them that they forgot to rotate, the boss kept insisting it is done. But how can it be done when the front tyres are more worn-out than the rear, further more I recognise my wheels.

Lesson learnt - remind and check the rotation when you're there, by the time you're back home, all they need is that 5 seconds to say sorry, please come back and we'll do it for you, but it is us know need to spend the time and make another trip.
