Darkness Neutral Newbie March 8, 2007 Share March 8, 2007 ya coolness at the expense of other road user is that is why education and not punishment alone is the way to solve the problem. ↡ Advertisement
Speed_ong Clutched March 8, 2007 Share March 8, 2007 I agree. HID install wrongly or on the wrong car is so much worst than foglights. Firstly, foglights are situated nearer to the floor than headlights. Its suppose to shine the area around the front of the car. Only those foglights which are wrongly installed or its change to super white lights, then its bad. HID installed on SUV and some old cars, are the worst. Shine until I can see them coming from far away. Their headlights does not shine on the floor in front of the car, its shine straight at the car in front, in order to blind them. Topgun Neutral Newbie March 8, 2007 Share March 8, 2007 (edited) As long as the front foggies are installed properly, I am ok as they dun really blind road users. But no aftermarket front foggies please !! And those who use rear foggies on a clear day deserved to get their rear lights smashed !! Yes! Hahaha! Actually I said tougue in cheek only. Of course proper fog lights installed properly and used when required - whether it's fog or heavy rain and other low visibility conditions - contributes to safety of both the driver and other road users.... I just cannot stand idiots who turn on their foggies when in S'pore all the roads are brightly lit. Don't know shine for what Edited March 8, 2007 by Topgun
Gabriel 1st Gear March 8, 2007 Share March 8, 2007 dats why lor... sometimes in mscp... esp when it is brightly lit... dun noe wad the fortuner is thinking of sometimes me off the headlights esp when going up or down the slopes... when there are pple walking around... and yup...maybe should send them to eastern europe... let them learn...or maybe better still... tie them to a pole... then on HID or foggies right into their face... let them haf a feel of it

Chemz Clutched March 8, 2007 Share March 8, 2007 Saw an idiot on a fortunar with the fogs on in the bloody car park. I mean why the hell in a fully lit up place Education needed. Shouls send them to Europe (eastern) so that they can see the very reason why fog lights were invented for i think in the carpark, it's pretty dimly litted and dark, thus maybe the need to turn on some kind of lights, foglights in this instance help to illuminate the ground, esp kerbs or what not. in an mscp, it's pretty squeezy for suvs, so i don't see why not. anyway i'd prefer drivers to turn on their lights in a mscp. I tried a couple cars with stock foglamp and found most will just illuminate the ground and for short projected distance (<5m), hardly a glaring experience as compared to those aftermarket HIDs or cabs with adjusted left head beam. I think the authority needs to clarify more on this "hazy" issue and how they indent to enforce. Not all foglamps are created equal. Flameevil Neutral Newbie March 9, 2007 Share March 9, 2007 (edited) i hav met afew, obviously its aftermarket ones becos the beam is like high beam maybe becos its white light... but wad to do? in singapore, u can do anything, juz dun get caught nia, teh same goes for HIDs Edited March 9, 2007 by Flameevil
Icekitten Clutched March 9, 2007 Share March 9, 2007 2. Blue white lights that look bright, but don't really cast a proper beam. I know it's cool to have white lights, now HID is cheaper, can you go install a proper HID system ? at least the beam is more focused and it doesnt shine into people's cabin. Not everyone can afford it I know, but at least buy some lights that WON'T IRRITATE PPL ARD U. Are you sure that HID beam is more focussed and less irritating? So far my own personal observations have been that HIDs are definitely more blinding and irritating than just some bluish or white lights. ↡ Advertisement
