Anyone likes them? Personally i dont as i find that it hinders my vision. I prefer the mirror without the small little blindspot mirror and turning my head to check makes me feel safer.

ya, it actually reduces the side mirror area and at times can be a hindrance.. I hv tat (cz thr are times it can be useful)and still turn my head for blind spot..

I think the better ones are those used by taxi, the bigger mirror mounted on top of the side mirrors.

good for parking .. to see the parking lot box haha

but i always adjust my side mirrors so that they show me the blind spots. thus i only turn head to check when i am coming out of small roads...

I prefer a bigger rear view mirror so that I can have a full view of what's behind, and also the left blind spot. Couple with auto-tilt for "R", I dun see the need for the blind spot mirrors

My personal view is that practicality takes precedence over aesthetic and there is nothing to be 'paiseh' installing the small mirrors. My wife and 2 grown up children use 2 cars while I use them occassionally (my 3rd car is turbo-charged with wide angle side mirrors and only for me to drive), the driver seat position of these 2 cars always has to be adjusted forward or backwards to suit individual's preference.

At the same time, it is very frustrating as the side mirrors have to be adjusted to suit individual's visibility. Also when reversing and at V-junction, one's head has to be turned back and can be rather tiring. When doing parallel parking or reversing into a lot, the side mirror has to be adjusted downwards which again is rather troublesome.

While driving on the road, I have seen many private vehicles installed wide angle mirrors about 4" wide at the base with curve top above the side mirrors.

The above struck my mind to overcome the above problems and frustrations that we faced on the 2 cars. Immediately, I went to purchase 2 pairs with black colour housing from an accessory shop and installed them onto the 2 cars when I reached home. As my 3 cars are deep dark blue, off-black and black colour, the black housing for these mirrors blend well with the cars.

For those who do not know how this mirror looks like, they are the same as those installed above the side mirrors of taxis.

While the wide angle mirrors give a wider rear visibility, both the main side mirrors are tilted downwards permanently such that they partly show adjacent vehicles and the ground.

After installing the mirrors, both my children initially felt 'malu' bcos' they thought that only taxis use them. But after getting used to the wide angle mirrors and position of the side mirrors, they realised how useful they are and everyone of us are happy now.

Many of my friends who own only 1 vehicle which is use by him, wife and children and having the same problem now installed such mirrors after they sat in my car and find how practical these extra mirrors are.

There's nothing to be ashamed about installing these small round spot mirrors - even seasoned drivers end up in accidents.

Spot mirrors are small wide angle mirrors which provides a wider perspective of what is surrounding the side of your vehicle. Great for reverse or parallel parking, and while driving - they can show you a biker trying to squeeze through behind you in tight traffic. Although view is small, but you will still be able to notice overtaking vehicles on either side of your blind spots.

Some day, a better device could possibly be made available for motorists; onboard radar monitor. This is already in use in high end luxury cars to cotrol active head lights, braking system, seatbelts, and even the steering wheel in the event of detecting an imminent crash.

I find adding those little round blind spot mirror only obstruct my side view mirror. My side view mirror is rather small too. I still prefer the traditional way of turning my head to check blind spot, been doing that for over 10 years, so already used to it.
