Just came back from Genting, guys please be careful northbound on NSH before the Ayer Keroh OBR saw many cars get booked (there was a police roadblock) and many were Singaporean

Then just now on the way back again saw 2 sporean cars booked by TP right after the end of the NSH before the road leading into Johor Bahru

Also traffic even at the outskirts of KL is exceptionally slow, so if there is a way to avoid being near KL altogether on the way to Genting next time I might want to try it, but overall it was a great trip :)

Can park at Theme Park Hotel? Which car park is generally safe to park?

I usually parked the MSCP and the open carpark infront of Genting Hotel w/o any incidents.

Basic precautions like keeping valuable items out of sight, parked head in and steering wheel lock to deter

opportunist thieves.

The easiest and straighforward route to take to Genting is the one that is most commonly referred to as Cheras Highway. I spoke with my KL friend and he told me there is no highway known as Cheras Highway. The route is actually MRR2 and it pass thru Cheras. After the Sungei Besi toll, just one loop on the left which brings you to MRR2 and it is straight all the way. The sign pointing to Genting is very clear along the way. I hope this is the one that many people are talking about.

Bro Redstorm,

that's the route i take all the time,

look out for the Cheras sign which is 2 km after the sungei besi toll,,

turn left and it will lead you to the Middle Rind Road 2,

there after just follow the Cheras/Kuantan till you see the Genting Highland exit.

Yes, precisely what I was talking about, this route is called the MRR2 (Middle Ring Road 2) which many people mistakenly called it as Cheras Highway just because it passes thru Cheras. There is no highway with such a name (Cheras Highway) in Malaysia.

We ever drove our 1.3 car up to Genting many years ago. We were taught by my Malaysian colleague who frequents Genting to off our aircon when driving up for more power. And truth enough, there was more power after offing the aircon.

Perhaps you can try to off your aircon when driving up the hill.

The 2 rear passengers can come in handy, go out help push the car when the slope is very high. Just joking.

Maybe, if unsure, try going with only driver and 1 pax. Next trip, you would be able to decide whether can take extra pax.

For my ride, off aircon not really helpful because my car is already underpowered, so leave the aircon on for comfort, and go slow up the slopes.
