Changing light bulb for Ford Focus

This is a long shot, but can any Ford Focus owner here know which workshop has the knowledge to replace the light bulb for Ford Focus? Don't want to go to RM because they are charging $50 to replace the light bulb.

For those who are curious why this question is asked, you need to understand changing the light bulb for Ford Focus is a pain-in-the-ass due to design fault.

Dun fret, its not a ford thing. Its a common conti design to ensure that only "qualified" people can do the job of changing a bulb...

Yes I agreed. The problem was not so serious in the pre face-lift Mk1. The face-lift Mk1 is a real pain. Ford sort of realised the problem and eliminate it in the Mk2 Focus.

Its not exactly difficult, u juz need nimble fingers becoz the battery is directly, closely placed behind the passenger side headlamp, making things difficult for u.

I haven't got around doing it myself. Dare not try. The last time I went to Stamford Woodlands, they remove the whole headlight assembly to change the lightbulb which should not be the case. It took them more than an hour to replace one light bulb.

Nope removing the headlight to change the bulb was common for ford designs back then. Same thing with my Ford Ka... but if you think that Ford is bad, try changing the rear tailight on an Audi TT.... [crazy] you pretty much have to remove every panel in the boot to do that!

Supercharged
Passenger side main light bulb

had a LOT of trouble and pain changing it the first time round, but after checking out how it works (from the more accessible driver side), it's pretty easy now.

just got to line up the hinges to the slots and apply pressure from bottom upwards...

Are you referring to the black weather cover behind the headlight? Do you need to remove the headlight assembly from the chassis?

Supercharged

yeah, that cover is the troublesome bit.

i couldn't figure out how to remove the headlight assembly, so i took the brute force (initially) method, but it's pretty easy now that i've got the hang of it...

just change the passenger light bulb myself, it took a lot of fiddling just to get the bulb out..you had to "squeeze" the spring holding the bulb. To close the whether cover back..i unscrew 2 bolt holding the headlight..the whether cover can slip in quite easily. no need to remove battery, just the baterry cover will do..

cheers
