The cyclone was perfectly alright. Just that the mechanic said my throttle body was damaged bcos' of the installation of the cyclone. He claimed too much air and the throttle body was damaed. Really pluzzled me on such claim as the throttle body is made of steel so how can it be damaged/jammed and thereby causing a stiffness in my acceleration in the morning or when the engine is cold.

Well this product is made of stainless steel not like the cyclone which can be brittle. Anyway how can too much air damage the throttle body? Well when you installed the cyclone then this happened? maybe the guy did not install your cyclone well. Or the stiffness maybe because the air going in is alot so you don't really need to throttle so much on the accelerator.

It's not that I do not have to accelerate that much. The feeling when you first step on the accelerator in the morning is stiff. Meaning you have to apply more than the usual force to depress the accelerator for the first step everytime after overnight. So the mechanic actually claimed that it was becos' I installed the Cyclone and resulting in the throttle body damaged and requires to be replaced. This cost $700+++.

 

From what I reason out to be, definitely the Cyclone was not the problem. What I can deduced is that the throttle body has a lot of dirt stucked and thus jamming the opening/closing. So a good cleaning of the throttle body and oiling it will be fine. As for the reason why there are so much dirt is becos' I used K&N filter together with Cyclone and thus introducing more air being passed through to the throttle body and engine.

 

May I ask where I should really install the Cyclone? I have two. Thanks for any advise.

Thank Alvin. Frankly speaking, one of my Cyclone is placed where you said. The other is just after the air filter.

I think it's time for u to start looking for another mechanic. This guy is either a crook or a clown.

 

Either way, u don't want him working on your car.

I have two Cyclone. 1 is installed just after the filter box towards the engine. Another is installed just before the throttle body.

 

I never believed what the mechanic said. The sad thing is my car is still under warranty and thus have to go back. Guess all must have known now the origin of the mechanic.

Yes, I've install on many of my friends cars n MPV. U must know where is the right position otherwise it make no different, cos some shop point the wrong spot and i ve reposition it and it works find.

Price vary on the diameter size. Smaller size will cost less. I got a KI70 (Dia 70mm) for US40, directly from the inventor shop in Anyang, South Korea. You be surprised it a small shop, and the production is done in the shop.
