Can you give more detail regarding your Ford and your previous Honda?

I am driving Mazda now and also looking at Civic FD. Help!!

I don't know if I would like the handling of FD taking into consideration I love the handling of Mazda3 (which is similar to Ford)

what kind of details do you need? will be glad to help.

can't really give a good comparison as i drove an ES civic..and not the FD. in terms of handling, i had strut bars and anti-roll bars installed on the civic..and it still didn't match the stock Focus.

i travel north quite often..and i didn't have much confidence when my civic hit a bump at 120kph. the Focus felt sure footed even at 150.

minor servicing at KM cost me ard $200-$300 each time...and the major 80K km servicing costing me nearly $1K. not sure if there are changes for the FD civic..u may like to check with current owners

the only thing that the civic wins i think is FC. i got abt 12km/l ..and the Focus returns with 10-11km/l

Is the ES model just before the FD? FD is 8th Generation, which generation is the ES?

I switch from Vios to Mazda3 and felt that I could not go back to Toyota (be it Altis, New Vios, Camry, Yaris). I think Ford and Mazda had the same suspension setup, that is, Multi-link at the rear.

FC for Vios is good, at least 13km/l on AT but my Mazda3 now only 9.5km/l [sweatdrop]

Toyota service, the price still ok. 60k service pay about $400. Car was sold off at 70k km, so did not know how much 80k km service would cost.

Want to know if your Ford the current Focus?

yes, the ES is the 7th Gen Civic.

i'm currently driving the current MKII Focus. no complaints so far...except minor rattling noise at the door which was never solved.

i'm a rather tall person...so the conti cars seats do provide better support than jap cars IMO.

When I change my ride about 2 yrs back, I was looking at the ES, that time is last batch and KM offer HID light at 68k but I ended up picking Mazda3 at 71k.

Seems like I did not make a wrong decision. I am glad. [nod]
