Totally agreed. I started out driving a swift, later Vios and now Mazda3.

After driving Mazda3 it is difficult for me to go back to Toyota, Suzuki, Mit,...etc.

Don't really know how Honda and Subaru handles, else I would be going towards Ford, Fiat, VW, Volvo,...etc.

No offence to those Toyota, Suzuki drivers here.

Anyone here driven Honda or Subarus before and cross over to Conti can share their experience?

shhiii.......... i would rather say i prefer the 'heavy' feel of the conti that causes the high FC and the slow pick up, then the outrages service fees and the lack of mob-ability of the car other than these 'problems', i don't seem to have other problem with the car

And high FC? I got average of about 12-13, so what is the FC for Mz3?

 

Slow Pickup? I agree about how about the pick up when the car is travelling above 90km/h? The Japz lose steam, the conti move n.

 

As for service fee, it's quite on par and in fact cheaper than some other japz.

 

MOBability? there is but it's not cheap, but reason is that it's really Mod and not cheap add on like the Japz.

 

Well, guess it's down to individual... I guess I shd have gotten japz at some point. I might just get use to driving one..

Just saw the C6 at the C&C Mitsubishi facility today ...

its gorgeous

 

esp the interior ..... beats the E-class two hands down

the heavy feel is partially due to gearbox gearing also

Good to know that ur german beast ain't a drinker, my french bitch at home drinks around 12 km/l. Not very high in terms of FC when comparing to sunny or a mit lancer that weighs alot lighter.

 

Another thing to note is that contis only need to go servicing for every 20,000 KM instead of the usual 10,000 for jap/kor/MY makes. Thus, the maintenance costs works out to be about the same or even less than a typical 1.6L Jap car (assuming both cars go back to their AD for service).

sigh.. my german sausage was supposely to be 15km servicing but they using Shell, so got to scale back to 10k...

 

But the price is was quite on par with other Japz car servicing, so not as bad as those ignorant people tot.

Why bother to explain so detail?

 

There are a lot of stereotypes out there, wun be easily convinced.

 

Most owners just praise the cars they own or had owned b4.

Actually having driven my German made Ford Focus for a year now -I think its the best dam car money can buy - in terms of Handling, Build Quality and Reliability ( it is a working class european car after all..)

 

However, I have not recieved one single nice comment about it from anybody who knows I own one (everyone drives Jap) - so what can you do?

 

We buy with our hearts and thank goodness they are just as reliable as any Jappy car out there..no need to tell...Just ride on ....

and i've owned french bixxxes with those hydraulic balls , before seeking temp shelters with the Jap , and yes, it was hell then and heaven now ( strictly on maintenance ! )

i guess different people have different priorities when it comes to cars. some want cheap to maintain...some demand more from their cars..some just follow their herd instincts. who cares if nobody gives nice comments on ur car..as long as u enjoy driving it

 

i drive a Focus too. switched over from a honda civic last year...and never looked back. yes..this thing drinks more..doesn't sprint at traffic lights..etc. it's a love-hate affair. for me..i love it..handles like a dream,cruises comfortable on the NSH, best-looking hatch (in my opinion) and the list goes on.

 

servicing is in fact cheaper than what KM charged me for honda..but i can't say the same about these european parts
